In short: rip-off time
In full: 10,200 x £26 = £260,520 .And what do you get ? A course thats too long ,inadequate toilets , mass-confusion at the start and finish .....it goes on and on , why are rank-amateurs allowed to inflict this sort of punishment on runners year after year ? The last time this event was well-run it only had 2,000 runners and you couldnt fault it .Pure greed in the name of "charity" has seen its steady decline to the the low esteem its now held in . Cap the entry at 3,000 and bring in proper race organisers .

In short: one of the better ones
In full: one point no-one else seemed to have raised is the traffic-free course wasnt exactly that , some time after mile 17 there was quite a few cars on the road coming towards us , some had pulled over but others like the nutter in the red astra went past at over 40mph , what was going on ? The course profile also stated that the climb was only 101m but that could be achieved by dropping 300m in the first half then climbing 400m on the way back , i certainly got the impression that after mile17 the road back was continually upward , maybe only 1-3% at the most but it does take its toll .

In short: not bad for the first one
In full: sometimes i think i was runningin a different race to others when i see comments concerning the marshalling and signage . i could have gone around the entire course without any marshalls present as the signage was more than adequate both on the posts and on the ground .the main task of a marshall is to improve your safety and guidance if necessary but not to jump up and down cheering and flag-waving at every runner that passes . if its on again next year it should double in size but kent now has more 10k's than the rest of the uk put together (or so it seems) so competition for runners will allways be there .

In full: the tech t-shirt was worth a tenner alone - no complaints about the marshalls - they are only responsible for the spot they are stood on and cant be expected to know much else . the race guide book told you everything you needed to know and more , read it next time . just one small change , the water stations should be at 3k and 7k , not just one at 5k .
