In short: Super scenery, organization and prizes.
In full: A scenic and varied route, making use of the athletics track, the park, wood and farmland. Beginners welcome though it'd help to have some experience of cross country as ground uneven in places. Loved the prizes: all useful stuff! Thanks, see you next year.

In short: Get over here and bring the kids too!
In full: The marshalls were fantastic, the scenery beautiful and the few hills.... well, they're good for kickstarting your winter fitness plan.

The relatively late start means that you stand a chance of getting there on time from another neck of the woods/on public transport.

This was my second go and this time I worked out where the strange Petts Wood Runners logo comes from. Thanks and see you next time.

In short: unmissable
In full: Perhaps not for the inexperienced runner, but I'm always struck by how friendly this race is, from the lovely, encouraging marshalls to the camaraderie en route. As for 'value for money', I'd do it just for the scenery and cake!

In short: Do it!
In full: The organisation was flawless, getting gun-time and position by text immediately afterwards was a nice surprise and how did they do that thing with the weather?!!

My entire 48hour visit to Inverness was wonderful and though it's not exactly on everyone's doorstep, I'd recommend this race to anyone looking for an alternative to the more crowded city marathons.

In short: Will be back for more
In full: This is a well organised race with very encouraging marshalls and plenty of water stations (love the paper cups). The hills may not make it ideal for achieving a PB but I somehow always manage to make friends and would therefore recommend it as a great first race.

In short: Wouldn't dream of missing it
In full: The bits I really liked: a) easy public transport access, b) paper cups (enviromentally friendly) c) the unexpected and rather heavy 2007 memento which made the folks back home think that I'd actually won! If only it was traffic-free too...

In short: I'm glad I waited till I grew up for this one. An out of the ordinary day out and an annual fixture for me from now on.
