In short: Everything you need in a spring 20 miler In full: 4th time I've done this one. Organisation and marshalling top notch again. Glad I wasn't the only one who likened the 'silver coaster'(?) in the goody bag for an ashtray - LoL. Date of review: February 15, 2015
In short: The perfect day for a 20 mile run In full: This was my 3rd year of running Bramley and the best yet. The organisation is always good and the marshalls did a sterling job. The additional toilets at the start and the great weather were very welcome. Date of review: February 17, 2014
In short: A pleasant 10k around the northern fringes of Winchester In full: Having read reviews from previous years, I arrived with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised with the organisation. The route has enough mild ups and downs to keep it interesting and although not traffic free, I didn't encounter any problems. The start and finish areas all ran smoothly and there was good pockets of support despite the bitter conditions. I was very happy with my time and will be back in future. In short: It always rains on the plain In full: A nice low key run to burn off the Christmas excess. After a sharp hill to start, the run down to Imber was very pleasant. The run back up onto the Plain and back was 'character building' into driving wind and rain, but was soon forgotten on running back down the first hill to the finish. Thanks to the marshalls who did a stirling job. Date of review: December 28, 2012
In short: Big quick 10k race In full: Beautiful day for it - perfect conditions. The start, course and finish were all very well organised and there were a steady number of supporters out on course. Apart from a small hill between 3 and 4k, it was pan flat which helped me to a good PB. Not sure why the organisers give the free t-shirt away at the start? Couldn't be bothered to go back to race HQ to get it at the end, but don't really need another one! Overall a good race Date of review: March 25, 2012
In short: Best 10 mile race in the South In full: The Salisbury 10 continues to be the best organised race around and I couldn't fault it. The weather was great and conditions were ideal. I felt the hills a bit more this year, must train harder! Date of review: March 11, 2012
In short: Fast and well organised half marathon In full: Excellent race. The organisation and race venue were particularly good. Don't really care for goody bags, but this one was full of welcome stuff - cake, banana, chocolate coin, nutty bar, juice, sure there was more... The course was OK - the camp bit is a bit boring, but the band were loud and there were good pockets of support at Lee-On-Solent. Date of review: November 21, 2011
In short: A good local 10 miler In full: This is a well organised local 10 miler attracting lots of club runners as part of the Hampshire Road Race League. The organisation is good. No real hills, but it never quite seems flat. Bargain price which makes last week's Great South look criminal. Quality coffee and cake at the race HQ!!! Date of review: November 6, 2011
In short: Well establish half marathon taking in the New Forest and the Solent In full: This is a well established half marathon and the organisation is always very good. It was warm this year and there are plenty of mild ups and downs to keep it interesting. The goody bag was a bit uninspiring this year - but the reasonably low race entry is welcome. Date of review: October 9, 2011
In short: Pan flat 5 miler offering excellent VFM In full: The start was a bit tight, but fine once we were off the track. The course is very flat with plenty of PB potential as long as it isn't too windy (it wasn't).
The 15 minute delay to the start didn't bother me. The venue, organisation and marshalls were excellent.
Good prize for the 65th aniversary of the race, not bad for a tenner. Date of review: September 18, 2011
