In short: A lot more scenic than i expected and marshalls were first class. In full: Throughly enjoyed the race as a first timer on the course, not nearly as hard as i'd feared and thought the night time t shirt a really good idea coming into the dark nights. Marshalls really were great and support on the course was very friendly. Well done. Date of review: September 29, 2011

In short: Good marathon preparation and friendly participants In full: The race itself ran very smoothly but the buses at the start ran very late with our bus leaving just after 8. Had a big que for the loos and only made the start line with 3mins to spare despite turning into the car park at 0710. Travel arranegemnts aside the route itself was better than last year and the stadium finish a good touch. Would i do it again? Maybe, but only as marathon prep not as a stand alone race. In short: Overall enjoyed the race but the course was dull except for the part through Elvaston park which i thought was greatt. In full: As a good training run i thought the race was ideal but as a stand alone event it lacked a certain buzz and seemed to be missing the fun element of great races. The course was flat and the closed roads were well marshalled and i always felt safe out there. The pre race as already stated elsewhere was too drawn out and un-necessary and i also thought the finish lacked atmosphere. But when all is said and done, yes i'd do it again.
