In short: A very challenging 10k In full: A challenging 10k set in the beautiful Cotswold Hills. Hills being the main word here because there’s a big bugger right near the beginning and another steep one at the 7k point. A nice downhill finish makes it all worth while. It was fairly dry when I did it so would have to give it a tougher rating if the weather had been worse. A medal or T shirt might make it more worthwhile turning out for.
In short: Distance was short In full: There are not many 5k races around this area so this has a bit of promise. 3 lap circuit of one of oxford's nicest parks. Unfortunately the 5k turned out to be only 2.6 miles. 1/2 mile short. The organisers did listen to the feedback given afterwards and promised to get it right next year. If it does then this race has promise. Date of review: November 1, 2011
In short: must do marathon but getting soaked for 45 mins before the race started wasnt an ideeal start In full: my first time here, one of those marathons that everyone must do.atmosphere is electric, great fun and lots of noise. the organistion was great up to a point but c'mon virgin but some shelter up in the park. a few gazebos to shelter under wouldn't be a great expense. getting soaked and cold for 45 mins before the start is not an ideal weay to commence a marathon. In short: Very nice if you want a PB In full: am i the only one that found it 1 10th of a mile short. but saying that well organised and friendly atmosphere. the medal was a nice touch. this would be a great race for beginners as well as established runners. see you next year Date of review: July 19, 2009
In short: God I Ached In Places I'd Forgotten About In full: Tough but enjoyable (That's what i kept telling myself while i was going round)Not for the faint-hearted, Very well organised. Date of review: September 19, 2008
In short: poor facilities In full: there was no real place to leave bags, not enough toilets, and the goody bag at the end was the worse I've seen (just a load of advertising). i won't blame the hail storm on the organizers though Date of review: March 15, 2008
