In short: Fantastic race with amazing support. Tough in places but that just makes it more of an achievement!
In full: A rocky start eclipsed by the fanastic support, great scenery and a heroes welcome at the finish. I'll be back next year.

In short: Fanastic first time race
In full: I entered the Fun distance as I had been telling myself for a long time now that I was going to do a Tri event. Booked myself in and started training. A nice short distance and pool based, perfect for anyone who has never done a tri before. The bike course is undulating but there are no major hills to cause any problems then the run is around the park so nice and flat. Fantastic Race and would reccomend to anyone who is thinking of dipping their toe into tri. Beware it's addictive!! Well organised, everything went very smoothly.

In short: My new favourite race
In full: This is the second time I've completed this race and both times I've set a PB! This is an excellent course and very fast. Anyone who enjoys the Half Marathon distance or is thinking of stepping up to 13.1 should do this race, well organised, not over crowded like some events but a very good atmosphere and also an excellent chance of a PB, what more do you want? A medal? you get one of those too!

In short: Disappointing despite being for a good cause.
In full: Due to the nature of this run it goes against the grain a little for me to note some failings of this event, however despite this, you have to remember that people are still paying their hard earned and are travelling to this event on a Sunday morning when a lot of people are still sleeping off their hangovers. It wasn't an horrendously organised event but there were definite problems, firstly the start of the event was 40 mins late, and then as if I wasn't already warm enough we were subjected to a short aerobic class style warm up which I actually didn't participate in as I couldn't have been any more ready to start. The real problem however was when I crossed the finish line at just over 14 mins, a definite PB and London 2012 beckoned I thought but unfortunately it was not an accurate account. I understand that the 5k distance was an estimate but I didn't think they would be about 1.5-2k out, apparently this was down to a marshalling issue which was rectified halfway through the event when a load of people had already finished. I was actually enjoying myself, despite the pain of a threshold race, until it all ended prematurely. Anyway, despite my misersable ramblings at least some funds were raised for a good cause (Organisational issues aside).

In short: Good, scenic course. Possible P.B. Route, windy and a little twisty from mile 10 which is a bit demoralising but a good crowd at the finish. Would definitely reccomend this race and will be doing it again next year.
