In short: Fave race
In full: Great sunny race after a brief rain shower - testing hills, fast descents, great marshalls, great location.

In short: A fun run around the Elan Valley area
In full: A great fun run out around the area - not enough seen of the magnificent reservoirs but all of it is scenic over a challenging course with plenty of testing uphills and the benefits of some quick downhill road sections to compensate. Great marshalling (clapping runners / shouting encouragement / giving accurate info / pointing the correct way / being empathetic to runners etc etc). A must-do run for me.

In short: First time half and full
In full: It was their first - so we cut them some slack (when marshals sent us the wrong way twice we didnt mind too much, when there were no marshalls we didnt mind too much, when at the end there was a plate of Jaffa cakes, a medal and a t-hirt we didnt mind too much). Back to the city of my birth for a fun half - I will do it again but it MUST be better organised and marshalled.

In short: It pi**ed down!
In full: We were nearly sent bootless and weatherbeaten back by the wet windy Welsh weather but a great mad run was had around the lanes and woods of this pretty part of the Elan Valley instead. The water coming over the dam at the start was impressive and the hills en route test your mettle. A great run.

In short: Fast but crowded city half-mara
In full: The course is flat, fast and fun but the PB potential is dulled by its popularity so its now a crowded Great North Run style half. If you want to improve much you must duck and dive a bit to elbow your way through, which aint on really. Still a scenic cityscape run with lots of pulling power and a great crowd of good natured runners, a varied route and plenty of vocal support all route with some big loud groups at certain key points and a big finish, this year in the City Hall area. Thanks Caaardiff!

In short: Challenging half mara course
In full: Fun to run , great start and finish point in the park, lots of support and a challenging course with testing hills in the last third, asking a few good questions of you. Always enjoy a day out in Wolves.

In short: Technically perfect half marathon....
In full: There was heavy rain before but 30 minutes before the start, cue hot sun and blue skies yet again for this excellent half mara. Yes there's hills - but you get to coast down the other side. Great support around the route and a brilliant start / finish zone with crowds, music, interviews, comments, humour and plenty of encouragement. One of my fave races and always a joy to run.

In short: Frosty, fun, feisty undulating ambulation.
In full: Starts in a modern housing estate on one of the main roads - white van man objected but then he would wouldnt he - then heads into undulating rural lanes between frosty hedges, well marshalled and signed with only some passing cars, one or two playful uphill pulls but no 'hills' as such and all mile markers clearly sited. Great New Year freshener and shifts a few Christmas pounds. The jog back to the sports centre from the finish is an issue on a freezing cold day. The delayed start no problem.
