In short: I beg to differ with previous review. A GREAT RACE - WELL ORGANISED AGAIN
In full: It sounds to me as if the previous reviewer got lost en route, despite crystal clear directions via email from the organisers beforehand. I imagine that his lateness caused some 'panic' at the loos and at the start! At least he recorded a PB though. Lol! I cannot thank the organisers enough for their hard work in putting on a great race for a worthy cause. Thanks guys.

In short: A nice new event to start the year
In full: Had never been to Kenley Airfield before but can recommend this little race to anyone. Friendly stewards at start and finish all working for a great cause. Well done! p.s. preferred being at ground level rather than up in one those gliders.

In full: I couldn't understand some of the previous reviews until I realised that they are referring to completely different races. I guess there is a problem with the RW site which is unfortunate because it makes this race appear sub-standard. Personally, I thought today's Bushy Park 10k fun run was well organised and had a nice atmosphere about it. I'll definitely be back again next year.

In short: Big freeze didn't help this one
In full: I wouldn't argue with some of the earlier feedback but there were some positives to take from this race (honestly!). The results were posted on www.southlondonfives.co.uk within 3 hours of the finish. I made the distance 10k spot on. I spoke to the organiser and he said there was no option but to change the course at the last minute due to hazardous conditions at the far side of the railway track near the car park. I double-checked before going home and it was dangerous to walk on, let alone run. Finally, the race could and perhaps should have been cancelled but the organiser had alreading postponed once because of a mix-up at the council (and they still wouldn't open the gate for us!) and didn't want to let people down for a second time. Perhaps this was the wrong decision in hindsight?

In short: Got soaked but well worth it!
In full: Great atmosphere despite the grim weather. Well marshalled from start to finish. Plenty of encouragement, water, goodies, etc. Better still, I had a PB.

In short: A pat on the back to all volunteers who helped out
In full: When people give up their time to marshall races for us early on a Sunday morning I have no complaint. What I found more annoying than anything were runners (you know who you are!) helping themselves to two or more t-shirts - for family and friends no doubt! However, I agree there is no excuse for lack of water. Other than that I found it a great in good company (mostly).

In short: A fantastic way to spend Sunday morning
In full: Thoroughly enjoyable race with pleasant companions and friendly marshalls. No complaints as facilities readily available as advertised on RW. Very good call to run over 4 laps not 3 due to boggy conditions under foot in places. Will definitely book this one in my calender again.
