In short: Seventh year running for my hometown race.
In full: Despite the truly awful weather I really enjoyed it this year. Didn't really have time to think about being sore or out of breath as was trying so hard not to be blown over! I have sympathy for the organisers who had some difficult decisions to make on the day but I think they made the right ones. I'll be back again next year. I do wish they'd knock the entry fee down just a little bit though. I know it's for charity but £30+ is quite steep and then to only get a banana and a bottle of water at the end is a bit tight.

In short: Another year, another hot race! Shame about the medal/mug situation at the end.
In full: Although this was again a great race, and hopefully not the last despite the organising committee passing over the reigns after 25 years, it was a shame that not all finishers were allowed a medal. Those who had entry numbers from 1 - 350 received a 25th anniversary mug while the rest got medals. Perhaps those of us who got our entries in early could have received both. Just a little grumble but I know I wasn't the only one at the end who was a little disappointed with this decision.

In short: Another year, another awesome goody bag at the finish!!!
In full: Having run this for the last three years, my expectations were, once again, exceeded. VERY well organised; VERY good value for money. I'll definitely be back again next year.

Would you do it again?

In short: Couldn't actually run as was injured but supported a few friends who were running.
In full: Organisation at the start was not great with the start having to be delyed by 15mins. Far too many people queueing to collect race numbers.
A massive error during the children's 3K race meant that the leaders were sent off down the wrong route and those deserving of winning were denied.
More food/drinks stands for spectators would be good too.

In short: Fourth time running my home-town race and as enjoyable as ever.
In full: I do feel that this race is poor value for money, even though it's for charity. A bit disappointed to get only a banana and bottle of water at the finish. A nice goody bag would be the icing on the cake of this otherwise fantastic event.

In short: Took it very easy this year having run London two weeks before and not done any running in between. Enjoyed the race as usual but the jury's still out on value for money.

In short: Took it easy this year partly due to lack of training and hot conditions but thoroughly enjoyed this race again after my debut last year!d

In short: A thoroughy enjoyable morning's work!
In full: I was meant to be running with a friend but his wife went into labour on the morning of the race so (unsurprisingly!) I ran on my own. I am wondering if he arranged the two to coincide but i'll give him the benefit of the doubt (this time!) I was using the race as a training run for the London Marathon so set myself the target of finishing around the 1:55 mark (my PB is 1:42). As it was, I finished in 1:52 but had plenty of energy left so was very pleased with my morning's work. The atmosphere was great all the way round and even the mild challenge of Spring Hill didn't seem to dampen too many spirits. I'll be back next year and will be sure to drag my friend round too!

In short: Much better than last year's event but still some fine tuning to be done.
In full: Some of the mistakes from last year's race have obviously been addressed though there is still room for improvement.
Not enough toilets at the start though the "pee pod" for the men speeded things up a bit. Bag store a good idea in principle though a 25minute wait after the race took the gloss off. Finish area very crowded which actually led to runners who still had a lap to go having to fight their way through a crowd. If only the organisers invested in a loud-hailer or PA system, then crowds could be cleared easily. Saying all that, however, the weather and scenery made for a lovely morning's run. Am now considering my fancy dress options for next year!!
