In short: Undulating but very beuutiful course - quite tough
In full: I had never been able to get a place, but finally found the enties open long ago. Even though I had already entered Run to the Beat that day, I decided to waste the fee and run in beautiful parkland instead of East London.

I know the park well, so I knew it would be a hard course - and it was! The toughest was the last mile. As it is dead straight you can see the finishing line, but it just won't get any nearer.

In short: Chip timing in the woods!
In full: Cross country run - great fun - undulating course. It was all about looking for the firmest ground to keep up the momentum and not lose speed.
Lots of serious dogs (huskies, etc), but what a shame not to see them go off with their own start - surely they would have enjoyed it more and we would have enjoyed watching them.

In short: Best Half in the South
In full: Great course, the weather was kind, the crowd were good and the organisation was excellent. Brakes was very generous with the goodies and Lucozade was generous with nutrition before and after. The start went especially well this year.

In short: Difficult conditions, difficult course
In full: The weather, tube problems and a twisty course make this a difficult race on both years I have done it. Organisation and venue were disappointing both times.

In short: Good club-organised event
In full: This small low key event was a joy compared with the big professionally organised charity events held there. Just as well organised as a big event, except that marshals/helpers all seemed friedly club memebers, rather than the usual impersonal paid hands.
The weather waas perfect for a PB, as the wind was light and it wasn't too hot. I just LOVE Dorney Lake as a venue, as it is so scenic and flat.

In short: Great course, but too windy!
In full: Dorney Lake is a FAST course in light winds, but is very exposed, so the upwind legs can be VERY HARD.

In short: Crowded race, but better tan last year
In full: 18,000 entrants on a generally narrow and twisty course will always be a problem, but it went better this year than last.

In short: Great course, terrible weather, awful car-park exit
In full: Wide track made for a great start and gave plenty of space for keeping to a pace.

Fantastic weather in London - warm, sunny and no wind - opened the car door at Silverstone to be met by an icy blast.
Took an hour to get ouyt of the car park!
