In short: Lovely race almost ruined by the car parking situation In full: Absolutely endorse what MadKazza said. This is not cheap for a 10miler, though vg value for a 20. Car parking was chaotic and miles away. Took 35 minutes to get in and then £2 for the insult. Agreed pens very small and there were people going everywhere after the finish. There needs to be a much more logical flow from the finish and out.
That said, having made it to the start by a whisker, I really enjoyed the race itself.
On a cold, wet day I think a lot of people would have been fairly hacked off. Seems like the race has outgrown its site. Date of review: February 16, 2014
In short: Comfortably Numb In full: As others have said, a challenge in the wet. Lots of mud. Trail shoes essential. Bike stage like being in a car wash and lots of punctures in the woods 3km from the end. Congrats to all who braved the elements to take part, particularly the marshalls who must have been freezing. In short: 'Undulating' 10 Miler - A good challenge In full: Nicely organised, friendly marshalls, nice countryside and a testing route. Well done BSRC. Only query with the chip timing is, having brought it in, why no mat to log start times. It took me a few seconds to cross the start line from the gun due to all the 10K speedies in front of me. Makes the accuracy of chips a bit pointless. Otherwise a good morning out and well recommended. Date of review: June 13, 2010
In short: Damp, mild and fast - again In full: Well done HBO. Another good race. everything seemed to work well, although with this number of people now, there is going to be the need for extra parking as it took a long time to park this morning. However we were warned, so its down to us. Quite crowded at the start but thinned out quickly. Chip timing was nice, but maybe a bit OTT for a small village race and it did make it quite pricey. Marshalling and support excellent as ever and nice commemorative T Shirt this year rather than the VERY LOUD colour ones from before :-) A lovely race and I PB'd, so very happy. Thanks to all the organisers. Date of review: May 31, 2010
In short: Great race and organisation ruined by the dreadful last 3/4 mile In full: Well done Bedford. Nice race, good marshalls, great hoodie and a very 'undulating' course to provide a real challenge. But sadly completely ruined by the sort of bolt on after thought of shlepping round some grotty housing estate at the end. It would be perfectly possible to put in a lollipop at some stage earlier in the course as many other races do, eg Stebbing, to make up the distance or even run round the housing estate at the start or at 12 miles, but not at the end please. And the same applies to making tired legs run round a playing field - after 19 3/4 miles on roads, legs do not want to do grass. Would have been 4-5 ratings were it not for this. In short: Lovely PB course and fantastic goodie bag In full: Another great race guys & girls. Thank you. Well organised, friendly marshalls. Lots of loos and the best goodie bag by miles on top of a technical T shirt. Medal as well! And I blew my PB away. So very happy. Back next year if at all possible. Date of review: February 8, 2010
In short: Generally well organised, supported and a fast course In full: Much enjoyed this after a break last year. thanks to all the marshalls and supporters. Weather was ideal which helped. In awe of the winning time, amkes the rest of us feel completely inadequte, especially when he has run back to the 8M point to cheer friends on. Only moan is the two cars that were in the high street at the start should have had marshalls next to them to direct people round as no one could see them until the last minute. Otherwise a great day out and nice long sleeve T shirt as well. Back next year - probably Date of review: November 9, 2009
In short: Friendly, quick course with lovely downhill finish In full: Dry this year - hurrah, although farm tracks had a nice new layer of uneven hardcore which tested the ankles a bit. Always suits me this race. Local and PB'd it, so very happy. Date of review: September 14, 2009
In short: Hot, hilly and I'm horribly out of shape In full: Bit of a challenge in the heat, but very well organised, great marshalls and well done for adding extra water stations at the last minute. Well done BSRC, hope its a it cloudier next year. Date of review: June 28, 2009
