In short: Great atmosphere & crowd support, well marshalled.
In full: Yes it was crowded and slow at the start but they did tell you this beforehand. Great crowds throughout despite the rain which I favoured. Beat previous 10k time by 3 mins so well chuffed. If you want a more uninterrupted run make sure you get up front on the start, but I didnt have any probs getting past people. Only grumble was getting my own medal out of a bag myself in the baggage area. Would have been lovely touch to be given it once over the line, as that's what I love to receive once I've done all the hard work. A good mornings work :-)

In short: scorching hot ! where was the water ?
In full: This was my first marathon and having trained hard for months to run 4.30 was very disappointed to come in at 5.48. Heat was torture but would have been easier to cope with had there been water. In that heat, dehydration, desperation, and walking became the norm. I saw many people checking out discarded bottles for a drop, and others being physically sick on the roadside. distressing and disheartening to watch. Nightmare ! Good time out of the question and happy to walk last few miles. It wasn't worth dying for..organisers take note...Shame us at the back were forgotten.Big thankyou to locals for hosepipes and water and policemen on bikes handing out some water too. Just grateful to finish in one piece. Time can wait for another time, prob not Edinburgh.

In short: hottest day of the year, hilly, excellent marshalling
In full: Wow ! my first time here and amazed at how hilly the course is. The marshalls were fabulous, so encouraging and good spirited which helped me get round. Suffered in the heat a bit, hence new blisters. oh joy... Well done everyone, see you next year.

In short: As a beginner training for a marathon next year this was ideal training. Didn't expect hills, but a good challenge which I am sure did me good. Very well organised and marshalled with friendly faces full of encouragement. Thankyou, well done
In full: The start is tight but kind of adds to the fun of it all on New Years Day. A great friendly atmosphere.
