In short: Really well put together race In full: It felt like a race that had been going for years - really well organised, very few problems (there really weren't enough toilets at the start). Fantastic views on the first half - power station section not so great, although 'the wall' really cheered me up. The finish area was great - so easy to get through Date of review: April 19, 2010

In short: Great potential, real shame about the organisation In full: Good parking, but the baggage handling really ruined this race. If I'd been able to get my own bag I wouldn't have minded so much not getting a goody bag of any description at the finish, but standing in a queue with nothing to eat or drink other than a small bottle of water for 90 minutes after the end of the race really rubbed it in. I did this race as prep for a marathon and won't be doing it again. Date of review: March 7, 2010

In short: unmissable experience In full: This is one of the races that's changed the face of running and made it possible for 1000s and 1000s of people like me to choose to run a half marathon - if you're fast you probably won't set a PB but that is missing the point - just enjoy the satisfaction of being one of the 50,000! In short: Really well organised relay race along the river from Ely to Cambridge and back again, worth doing even though weather was terrible In full: Ely Runners do a great job with this relay race - most of it is off road and you get to see some beautiful scenery along the river between Ely and Cambridge. The weather this year was truly awful, but even so it was still worth it, and all power to the stewards who stood out in the cold all day. Date of review: March 17, 2008
