In short: An uphill slog with beautiful scenery! In full: The first 7 miles of the race are uphill which was very tough but the scenery made it worth while. My only criticism of the race was the lack of toilet facilites at the start Date of review: May 10, 2010

In short: Tough, muddy but beautiful course In full: Lots of mud, streams, rocks and stiles. Its the kind of course that you start to question you're sanity on but you know your going to enter again! Shame it had rained so hard leading up to the race. A lot of people ran off track at one point as the sign's weren't clear enough. Not one for the faint-hearted! Date of review: March 21, 2010

In short: Looks harder than it is! In full: Undulating is a fair way of describing this course but I suprised myself in shaving 15 minutes off my PB! Beautiful run and well organised, definately worth the trip. Made my week! Date of review: March 8, 2010

In short: Expected much more for the entry fee! In full: To change the course from beaches, piers and parks to a lap around the houses and shops is criminal! Totally boring race with zero atmosphere. On the plus side, it's fairly flat and the wave system at the start was really good.Nice medal and T-shirt but sad to say I won't be back next year. Date of review: July 12, 2009

In short: Beautiful but tough course In full: The course is basically one long incline from start to finish through beautiful grounds.Sharp downhill sections dont leave much time for recovery so be prepared for aching legs afterwards! Great day out, well organised although don't expect a PB Date of review: May 25, 2009

In short: Beautiful Flat course with PB Potential In full: Having usually opted for road races I was expecting this course to be more challanging. I was suprised to find it so flat with the most stunning views over the cliffs & beach. The race was well organised and marshalled and I was sad to miss out on the free soup and a role afterwards as I had to leave early! Date of review: April 5, 2009

In short: Made for Fundraising In full: Seems to be better organised than my first attempt in 2006. More control at the start so people were in the right pens and a larger emergency services presence. Great atmosphere, great scenery - great day! Still tough to get a PB with so many people running and that awful climb near the finish! Date of review: October 16, 2008

In short: No where near its potential due entirely to poor organisation In full: The weather didn't cause the problems, the sheer lack of common sense from the organisers did! e.g 1) You couldn't reach the charity tents due to the state of the field (surely some kind of duckboard could have been put down?) 2) Upon crossing the finish line you had to queue for half an hour to get your goodybag as the organisers in their wisdom had decided to hand these out in the narrowest of streets creating a bottle-neck effect. 3)A foil blanket would have been nice at the finish as apparantly there wasn't enough for everyone!?
Ok, so it wasn't all bad. The course was wonderfully flat - great if your aiming for a PB.The medal and goodybags are great & the city is beautiful. Date of review: March 19, 2008
