In short: is it a race or a fun run ?
In full: Nice race HQ + carpark.
Those were the good points....
Too many kissing gates to squeeze through - no hope of a pb here, Ideal for a lazy sunday jog, or a walk with the dog if you have one. and that's about it.
Forget it if you don't like cows, as you share a field of them for a while.( so best not walk the route with the dog then )
Course was overcrowded this yr, so the narrow sections+gates were bottlenecks.
Town centre had a coach sat loading right on the route, so had to go past it on the ( open to traffic ) road,
so no, I did not enjoy this years run. needs to improve, or think about a change to it's identity ? is it a "run" or a race ? or mass participation event ? A new route would work wonders. even reversing the direction would help massively.

Will I do it again ? maybe.

In short: scenic...
In full: ..... means lumpy / hilly.
scenery stunning, event well organised, though shame there were so many other events on the same day reducing the numbers.
would make a great XC course in the winter.
Deers munching the fields, fish swimming in the lakes, much better than a loop of a ring road anyday.

In short: what goes up must go down....
In full: 2 laps of a basically rectangular course. out leg up hill, and the return leg downhill.
Not one for a PB attempt, I find it around 4 mins slower than my flat 10k time, though the scenery, and interesting distance makes up for it. Organisation is simply perfect. The race HQ / Village cricket pitch is so very Quintessentailly English, Race results online same day, a good morning out. One to be recomended, and an ideal route for hill training. Well don HNH !

In short: Perfect event
In full: Despite the forest fires, and road closures, the race went ahead, smooth as ever, very well organised.
Other events could learn a lot from Bracknell, The finishers bag had water/sports drink/cerial bar/medal etc inside, AND a T shirt !
Great route, Good fun challenge.
Well worth doing, no wonder it sells out early every year.

In short: hot, crowded, miles of support, huge crowds
In full: Bit too warm for me.
Adding a sudden stop + pothole early on gave me huge blisters, which lead to the skin under my right foot coming off with a mile or so to go. I wasn't stopping. I was going to finish. 45 mins late, but going to finish.
Would I do it again - Oh yes ! no question, 100% sign me up now please.

The St Johns were great, ( post race foot repairs for me, nothing serious ) they looked so busy, they really are Stars.

Really needs a marshal point in the long tunnel, I stopped at the nearest Police officer to report someone in trouble in the tunnel, should have been better there.

Londons shiny bits are nice. getting there is a pain, and involves the not-so-shiny bits.

In short: Great race, great bbq, perfection
In full: I like this race, it's a great early season blast. It's flatish, easy to get to, fairly local, and suitable for all levels, and well marshalled too.
Interesting to see how much of the town is being re-developed, masive change from last yr.
BBQ is/was great !
Didn't get me a pb this yr, so will be back to try again next yr. Can't grumble, top 40 finish makes up for no pb any day

In short: A great run over an interesting + challenging course
In full: Great course, hilly most of the way round. That said there's plenty of scope for chasing your pb. I got one by almost 4 mins. I am really happy :-) First time under 2hrs.
Different momento, internally laser etched plastic block. Makes a nice change, and looks smart too.
Great idea on the tasty snack too, that was very welcome after 15 miles.
Really loved the almost instant results, mine were on the wall within 30 mins of me finishing.
A great run over an interesting course.

In short: stunning scenery, well organised, needs more runners :-)
In full: Very well organised, great venue, stunning route, really worth travelling a bit for. the coffee/tea+sausages that were available to purchase after were also great.
yes the up hills feel endless, but that's part of the fun, there's a nice view form the top, and the drop throught the woods + final valley is perfect. If you don't run, do the 5k walk, you'll love it. Most of the route is on private land, closed to the public apart from race day.
The Major's pre-race brief was fun+unique too, as was the start "landrover horn" bit different to boring guns/airhorns.

In short: stunning scenery, traffic free + well organised
In full: really well organised, route undulated all the way round - I knew that before hand - Could be a quick route, if you're up to the challenge ! the downhills are fast, uphill bits smooth + predictable, and the scenery was so good it was really good to be able to run somewhere that nice, and no traffic to worry about.
Marshall on the small bridge was great, he must have run miles encouraging people over "his" bridge :-) mind you, the other marshalls were great too, looked happy ( and who wouldn't be, in that location ) and cheered us on. As this was the first 12miles+198 yard run I've done, I think it must be a PB ?
Well Done Woodstock !

In short: What it's all about
In full: Great event, well organised, and in a stunning village setting. Yes it's a bit lumpy, but that adds to the challenge, It can be quick, if you want it to be.
