In short: One word - A MAZ ING!!!
In full: Start a beginning - Kelly giving us all a wave at the start. Then off from our well organised and disciplined (and not crowded despite big field).
Then off into GLORIOUS Kent countryside. Yes it was undulating but that is fine. We knew in advance due to the excellent info on the website. Unlike other races (even marathons) EVERY water station yhad enough volunteers and also Jelly Babies. Crowds came from everywhere to cheer us, and road closures kept us safe.

At the finish I had my medal handed to me by Dame Kelly (brilliant - again) and then realised Id taken a chunk out of my pb!

This was even confirmed on website by 4pm on the day.

Will I be back? TOO RIGHT.

My 6th half and best in all respects.
Fantastic effort guys.

In short: First ever time here and v happy
In full: Very well organised. Was good to have staggered starts. Got bogged down a bit at the end of first lap but that was a good excuse to get some self discipline into the running.

Agree re headphones - cant they be banned? Not safe, cant hear marshalls instructions or cars and very unsociable.

In short: Fantastic race - loved it
In full: Just proves it is possible to organise a race without the trimmings. V friendly. Extremely muddy and testing but expected that. Took 9 minutes off my course 'record' so must have done something right!

Re Saturday races I think there are not enough races on Saturdays so this is one of the reasons I would always do this one (and other Saturday races!)..

In short: Good atmosphere but a few gaps in organisation
In full: Firstly the positive. A lovely race along the sea front. Some would say 4 laps is repetitive but I enjoyed it - and v spectator friendly which is obviously good. Also the flat course made a pb very doable - in fact I beat my previous pb by 4 minutes! And the atmosphere among the runners was great - plus my wife seemed to make new friends while spectating - even missed me once while chatting in the sun!

The negative. Race started 15 mins late (and was re-arrranged from 11-30 to 9am at short notice). And the advertised mile markers were not present. Although this did not present a huge problem (after all it was effectively 8 equal segments) the fact was that they were advertised.

Overall a good race but please get the organisation right!

In short: Great race - well done!
In full: Hills just as I remembered and a good test. Good support and a cheer for every runner at the end. Then a look round the fair and even a ball in the evening - so a great day all round!

In short: Good as ever but why is it always hot when I do it?
In full: Second London mara - slower than I hoped. Weather an excuse. Problems with bunching at start and some roads v narrow as crammed in by spectators so didnt really ever get a rythym. But spectators were fantastic and just wouldnt let me fail.

Only one comment - there are so many marathons. Why is London the only one 95% of people have ever heard of?
