In short: Reducing in quality
In full: This was my fourth time of running this event and although numbers are going up the quality is reducing
Bands and support are thinning out year on year with the support virtually non existent from 1.5km to 8.5km
In comparison to the Great Manchester the organisers seem to be taking their eye off the ball here
The out and back route is flat (for Sheffield) and only has two hills but is fairly uninteresting

In short: A good first attempt
In full: Minuses
- start boxes not big enough for everyone
- narrow trails meaning overtaking of people walking on the uneven pathways very difficult
- long queues for water and t-shirt after finish
- prize giving quite late

Pluses
- nice friendly family atmosphere
- chip timed
- I won a spot prize in the prizegiving

Overall a good first race and it should return next year but plenty of scope for improvements

In short: Hot, hilly late starting and short of water
In full: Hot - outside control of the organisers
Hilly - tough course - first 4km all up hill, think I prefer the old route with one big climb rather than a long uphill slog
Late start - 500m to start form car park was actually nearly a mile plus they never quite anticipate how popular the race is
Water shortage - water stations had queues for us at the back as they couldn't pour the water quick enough and water at the finish was in very short supply - good job the momento was a mug

In short: Well worth it
In full: Quick course but with a few killer hills (one from 4 miles to 5 miles)
Finish funnel not exactly where you think it'll be
Would prefer km markers rather than mile markers especially for a 10km race

In short: Muddy Brilliant!
In full: A great race and well organised.
12km not the original advertised 12km but with queues at several obstacles (and we were in Wave 3) not going to ever be a PB but well worth waiting to do the full challenge.
A real social event - lots of helping each other over the obstacles - and no help given to the very rare ultra competitive blokes who just barged past everyone being helped over the obstacles.

In short: Great race
In full: Tough hills in the last mile but not overly difficult considering it is Sheffield
Several bottlenecks in the first mile meaning that you ended up running at a slower pace than you want to in the first mile
Overall very well organised and will be running again next year

In short: Uphill for the first 4km and then straight back down again
In full: First 1.5km not too bad then 500m with a huge climb and then another 1.5-2km with a gradual climb. Once you're over that great scenery running through the woods and the surrounding grounds on tarmac, mud, grass, stones, paved (only missing sand and swamps!)
Generally well organised and the fancy dress fun run a great touch for families. Just need to get some more toilets - 20 minutes queue.
Great scenery and well marshalled by the local Rotary Club

In short: Great race, great scenery, great support
In full: Nice race, smoothly organised with great scenery. Especially nice that the locals in the villages you run through even cheers on the back-markers
