In short: Really good small event in Archer's country In full: I thought that overall the event was very well organised. There was a small problem with the parking arrangements at the start but this was sorted out with no fuss. The route was scenic and relatively traffic free despite being on roads that were open to traffic. The route was well marshalled and the support was great. Well done to the people on the last water station who also supplied jelly babies (I credit my second wind to those jelly babies). I do agree with the reviewer who thought that one more water station was needed. I would have appreciated water around the 8 mile mark. The T-Shirt is good and the food in the goody bag added to the free sandwiches meant that the organisers effectively provided a packed lunch for each runner, which was fantastic. I'll definitely be back. Date of review: March 7, 2011

In short: Excellent new race and all in a good cause. In full: I definitely recommend this new race, which I hope will be repeated next year. Although it was quite pricey for a 10K the proceeds went to the local hospital. The course was mildly challenging, particular the off-road sections due to the heavy rain of late. I reckon I lost a couple of minutes getting stuck behind others on the single file footpath bits. Nevertheless this was a really well organised event and I heartily recommend it. In short: Leave those ipods at home!!! In full: I enjoyed running the half marathon and I thought that the organisation was great. I just wish that people would leave the ipods at home. A wheelchair racer was impeded because those people running along with ipods on so loud I could hear the music couldn't hear the warning shouts from behind them. Don't be so selfish! In short: Stiff & sun burnt! In full: If you haven't run a marathon before and want to do so, enter this one now. Ignore the gripes that you will read in other reviews. The organisation of this event is magnificent and some people are never satisfied.
Thank you to all the people involved in the organisation. Thank you to the fantastic crowds along the route. Thank you to all those people who handed out Jelly Beans - you got me through the final couple of miles. Date of review: April 28, 2009

In short: Tougher than it looks In full: First time I have run this race and I was very impressed with the whole day. Found it tougher going than I expected and was slightly caught out by the warm weather. The race maybe through the forest but there wasn't a great deal of shade. Date of review: March 16, 2009

In short: Really enjoyed my first Stagger In full: The Stagger was never going to provide a PB opportunity especially given the weather but it was a well organised race (apart from the lack of a P.A system at the start). I liked the challenging hills and the stiles made it seem like an elongated Steeple chase. I'll definitely run this again. Thanks Stourbridge RC. Date of review: February 9, 2009

2007 The Coventry Half Marathon

In short: Very good, well organised race. In full: I lived in Coventry up until 3 years ago, so this was a jog down memory lane. I really enjoyed the run and ran quicker than I have for several years (having hardly run in the past five weeks due to injury). Whether that is evidence for PB potential I couldn't say. The crowds were really supportive (particular the young woman handing out the ice pops), the marshalls were excellent and the energy food at the end was spot on. My only minor quibble is that the drinks stations were too short. On a couple of occasions I had run past the end of the station without finding a free hander-on of water. Despite that this race is already one of the best halves around. I look forward to being sent to Coventry next year. Date of review: October 22, 2007
