In short: Such a brilliant race for so many reasons, loved every minute of it!! In full: Really can't believe what good value for money this race is. The best goodie bag I have ever seen, really nice t-shirt which actually fits for once, millions of spot prizes (I got a box of 30 energy gels, fab!)- oh and the small matter of a really different, fun, challenging and amazingly friendly race too!!
The marshals were incredible, never have I seen so much energy, enthusiasm and banter, I was grinning the whole way round! The brass band at the beginning and keyboard player in the middle of the woods were just fantastic touches too. I still have 'Run Rabbit Run' stuck in my head from the second time I passed the keyboardist, what a classic!
Never have I cared less about what time I finished in, all that matters was I have had such a fun morning and I want to thank Stadium Runners for organising and putting on one of the best races I've ever had the pleasure of running. Date of review: October 11, 2009

In short: Great PB potential, a pleasant run In full: I'm amazed to report that I got my first 10k pb for 2 years at this race today, seeing as I was off for 6 months due to injury and had only been running again for 3 weeks. So that must be a sign it's a good pb course!
Unfortunately the scenery is a little lacking but the friendly marshalls and good comraderie amongst the runners made up for this.
A little on the expensive side but for our money we got a fast, chip-timed race, good atmosphere and a nice t-shirt. Date of review: March 29, 2009

In short: Tough race with a unique and fantastic atmosphere In full: Really loved this race! A really great insight into the training and dedication of our Army and loved being part of this event. Organisation fantastic and atmosphere amazing, just watch those hills - OUCH! Nice medal (which was presented very formally with a handshake and congratulations at the end, very nice) and t-shirt too. Date of review: September 16, 2008

In short: I LOVED this race so much!! Such an interesting and varied course, stunning views and extremely well organised. In full: Of the six different half marathons I have done to date this has to be my favourite.
Yes the hills are tough but the views are spectacular (anyone who says otherwise must have been running with their eyes to the ground the whole way round, tsk!) and the overall sense of achievement from completing this, the fantastic organisation, friendly marshalls and general atmosphere was second to none.
Not a PB course but if you don't go looking for one then you won't be disappointed. All the same, lovely and friendly for beginners.
Can't wait for next year! Date of review: February 11, 2008

In short: Fantastic atmosphere and a race I felt really proud to be a part of In full: Didn't do a particularly good time and I could blame it on the slow start and warm weather but at the end of the day it doesn't matter that much. What matters is that this race was for a great cause and set up by an incredibly inspirational woman. Thank you Jane! I was just so happy to have run it with so many others and such a great mix of people.
Disappointed with goody bag as it was literally just a bottle of lucozade in a bag (what a waste of carrier bags!!!) and the Start and K markers not clear enough at all, but other than that a really well-organised and enjoyable event. Date of review: June 24, 2007

In short: A quiet pleasant race, nice scenary and well-organised with fantastic marshalls. In full: Having to run up the worst hill in Roundhay Park TWICE was a bit of a shock as unfortunately the map they sent out with the info wasn't very clear so it was near impossible to work out the route.
Not many spectators apart from at the finish line but the enthusiastic marshalls were really appreciated and the atmosphere was still really nice.
Nice medal + goody bag and a well-organised enjoyable race all round. Date of review: May 20, 2007

In short: For my first half marathon I must say I really enjoyed myself and was very pleased with my time In full: Well what more can I add about the weather?! That I was NOT expecting, despite warnings about it being "cold and windy." I've never had hail on my face feeling like knives cutting my cheeks open before!!! But it made the whole thing feel even more of an achievement and I would like to thank the organisers and marshalls SO much for everything they did. It was a great day and a fun,if not bizarre, route! Strange being able to look around you at points on the second / inside lap and see runners in all directions and not be able to work out who was in front and who was behind (or was that just me being easily confused?!)
Especially big thank you to the marshall shouting "Free wind! Let it carry you!" as we went round her corner.. But a big smile on my face. Date of review: March 19, 2007
