In short: Wild
In full: My first visit to Fleetwood but would return just for the race. Well worth the effort. Who needs hills when such windy conditions produce an exhilarating challenge? Thanks to the marshals who braved the rain and the organisers. I'm easily pleased but the Eccles cakes were a nice touch.

In short: A glorious start to a Sunday.
In full: A glorious run despite overcast and damp conditions. The start and gradual descent - down a narrow but picturesque valley, set the tempo but the middle mile reminded you that hills also have ascents.
The trail, predominantly tarmac, was fast and trail shoes were not really needed.
A popular race with obliging and welcoming officials.
An excellent Tshirt in the goody bag.
Most new races experience hiccups - stick with it Ponty - a brave move to embrace the offroad boom. Looking forward to next year's race.

In short: A glorious start to a Sunday.
In full: Thanks for a well organised and welcoming event. The tranquility of the run was only disturbed by the grunts of the runners on the climb at 6.5k. The downhill finish was superb. The bananas, water and goody bag at the finish were greatly appreciated. Even more so were the showers, tea and cake. Once again, thanks to the organisers and marshals.

In short: A visual and physical challenge. Stunning views from the top. Well worth the climb.
In full: This new race(challenge) has made a welcome entry to the off-road calendar. The Islwyn Half was not without its own charm and challenge. However, this race brings home to runners that are fortunate enough to live near this quiet valley how lucky we are. The Beast will never be tamed.

In short: A gem, hidden between the FLM and the Pentyrch Hill Race.
In full: The term plod conjures up images of a lesiurely Sunday morning jaunt, but this 'race' is what you want to make it. There is a competitive sharp end but its mix of flat and steep elements combine with the surroundings to give the warm glow of being part of the off road fraternity. Excellent marshalling and organisation.

In short: A suitable challenge - an opportunity to exploit the beauty of the west.
In full: Not a race for soft centres. Scott started the race, Grav watched from above. Stradey was silent. The sun shone. Thanks Sospan. Thanks Scott ........ thanks .... Grav.

In short: An excellent race, helped by excellent organisation and supeb weathe.
In full: A very positive experience. I was impressed by the very practical nature of the race organisation, the helpful marshalling and good support. The quiet efficiency puts many big city races to shame. Well done, Stroud.

In short: Excellent organisation.
In full: The course itself has the potential for a PB but this year the remnants of Huricane Dean faced you on your return 5K. A challenge greater than the weights room in the gym.
It certainly blew away the cobwebs. Well done to the police and the support team.
