In short: Perfectly ok, but nothing special
In full: It was extremely hot, glad it was only 5 miles, and started at 10am.
Course is fast, but a bit boring. Organisationally fine.

In short: Amazing Crowds
In full: I have done several marathons and what makes London so special is the amazing crowds. There seemed to be supporters everywhere, but around the Tower Bridge area is just incredible, I almost had tears in my eyes.
When I was starting to struggle in the second half there was no way I could stop and walk. So many people were calling out my name.
A great event. Weather helped this year, would not have fancied running in Saturday's weather.
Although course is quick, it is not a PB course due to the number of runners. I started from Pen 5 and we came to a halt after only 500 metres. Several other places on the course you have to slow down.
Organisation as always first class.

In short: Great race, let down by organisational problems
In full: The Lincoln 10k is one of my favourite races, run on a flat fast and scenic course in the centre of Lincoln. Finish is especially good and there is a very good medal.
However having attended the race for the past three years, there always seems to be a problem with the organisation. This year the race pack never arrived, had to leave home early on the race day and pick it on the morning of the race.
If they could just get the organisation right I would attend every year.
One further point the car parking is fine in relation to the start, but it is a long way back from the finish, at least a mile, so if you are with non runners get them to take some clothing with them for you to wear after the race. I got caught in a heavy shower on the way back and was soaked by the time I got to the car.

In short: A fantastic well organised event.
In full: I thought twice before submitting this rating, as I wondered if I should keep it secret, and thus increase my chances of getting in to next years race.
Everything about this event is excellent. It is run over a scenic, relatively fast course, but what makes it special is the exceptional organisation put in to running the event by Matlock AC.
The goody bag is especially good, the best I have seen.

In short: Charging for the results leaves a sour taste
In full: The organisation was very good, and seemed to be able to cope with the increased entry.
However the decision to charge a further £2 for the results was a big mistake. Help the Aged have done their cause no favours with this petty action.

In short: love or hate it?
In full: The course is awful, too many people start in the wrong place, and getting back at the end is horrendous.
The positives are it is well organised, there is a very nice medal, lots of money raised for charity and people who do not normally run run.
Each year say never again but continue to do. As to whether I would if it was easier to get into, I don't know.

In short: A very well organised event, which is one of the most scenic races I've done in a city centre. Well worth doing.
