In short: Tough route to follow, but I never enetered expecting it to be easy. A pleasant way to spend a sunday morning! In full: I took a wrong turn in Lesnes Abbey Woods and aded a good mile or so (hilly). My fault - sorry to the 5-6 runners that followed me.
Otherwise a well organised run and I found the markings and directions reasonably easy to follow. Date of review: September 20, 2010

In short: Bluewater stick to retail! In full: My biggest gripe is that this race should not be included in the Kent GP and nor is it an appropriate event for the Kent 10K Champs. There are far too many slower "fun" runners and that's fine but why do they feel the need to start ahead of faster runners?
I got to the Start at 8am and even then I couldn't get anywhere near the front and could not be bothered to squeeze my way up closer to the front. I planned to run close to 40 minutes but lined up alongside the 65 minute pacemaker.
It took me 6 minutes to do 1 km, 11.30 minutes to reach 2km. It was only the final 3 km or so where I was able to make progeress without having to weave through people.
Only two redeeming factors 1) the early start and 2) the goody bag and T-shirt
As for the comments on the T shirt- I'm already fit, I never found the race very motivating and I didn't have any fun!
Sorry to be such a grump but this was one of my least enjoyable races ever. I guess I will just avoid these mass participation events in future... Date of review: June 13, 2010

In short: A well organised race which I'm sure will get better and better! I would have given an overall score of 100% but for the lack of toilets at the start. In full: If it hadn't been for the delayed start I wouldn't have managed to get to a toilet before the race. I hope more toilets are arranged next year.
On the positive side this race had the feel and organisation to rival the London marathon. Communication pre-race and on the day was very good.
The crowds were amazing and the marshalls did a great job - thanks to all of them!
The course - a bit tougher than I expected and I would have preferred more views of the sea, instead of the two out and back loops.
I'll hopefully be back next year! Date of review: April 19, 2010

In short: Stunning but tough course - very expensive run through the country!! In full: I rated the race as "special" but this is really down to the scenery. Apart from that it would have beeen an average event given the price paid (£38). Crazy thing is I would do it again just for the scenery! Date of review: March 29, 2010
