In short: My first marathon, found it challenging, and I hated running uphill against a 88mph wind!
In full: My first marathon, apparently Luton is a tough marathon. Alot of inclines, made extremely difficult my the torrential wind (weather broadcast said the wind were 88mph....) so I kept getting blown backwards and sideways by the wind, which sapped alot of energy from me... the wind was terrible, it grew stronger and stronger throughout the race... by 3rd lap... ..... .... !!!!!!!

Anyway, this was an experience, and I took my time as it was my first. I thikn it is a difficult race for a beginner (I am one), but if you can do this race, u can pretty much do any flat marathon =)

I dont know if I will put myself through the same torture again.... lol maybe once my sore muscles heal, maybe I will forget the pain and maybe I will do the marathon again

The marshals were sweet, one gave me sweets to keep me going! I wish they all had sweets on them, sweets are a lifesaver. All the runners were friendly and supportive even though I couldnt talk to them cos I was worried I might not have enough energy to reach the end.

The route was challenging, because the weather was crap... my mind did not really take in the environment, it was pretty much ordinary to me (I guess cos I did 3 laps of the same route, so it seems dull)

I would definately recommend anyone to do this marathon, mb once for experience at least!
