In short: My favourite local race!
In full: Another really enjoyable run, well-organised, with plentiful and encouraging marshalls, great crowd support, loaded goody bag, technical t-shirt and chunky medal! As always, the chap doing the PA gives a witty and funny commentary, before and after the race, he really adds to the overall atmosphere. Thankyou Handy Cross Runners, I always look forward to this run.

In short: well-organised race through some lovely woodland and countryside
In full: It was a lovely scenic course and the bluebells made it all worthwhile. Thanks very much to Watford Round Table for organising this. Especially thanks to the plentiful marshalls, who were all very supportive and as one of the last in, I needed all the support I could get! One little gripe, like another reviewer said, where was the mat at the start to activate the chip timing?

In short: Mud and hills; the clue is in the name of the race!
In full: I last did this race 4 years ago and I had conveniently forgotten about the hills. I did struggle but that's my fault as I hadn't done enough hill training. Its a great race, well organised from start to finish, through lovely countryside. The marshalls were really encouraging, to slow runners like myself and thankyou for the shoe bag; a great memento of the day.

In short: great race through some fantastic scenery
In full: As one of the slower runners (2.43) the congestion in the park had all eased by the time I got there and this was my favourite part of the race, the autumn colours were lovely, aided by the glorious weather throughout. Special thanks to the girl who handed me my water at mile 11, and I promptly burst into tears as she was so nice! The finish was a bit of a free for all, needs to be much smoother. Thankyou to all the volunteers for giving up their time, I'll probably be back next year.

In short: fantastic first time race
In full: Everything was spot-on about this small local race - lots of friendly marshalls, clear directions and signs, great atmosphere before, during and after the race. Many thanks to all concerned.

In short: Fantastic race, and a new PB for me!
In full: This is the 2nd time I have done this race and I really can't fault it. Everything went like clockwork, from the man on the PA system involving everyone in the event, the friendly and encouraging marshalls and the volunteers at the end handing out goody bags, tshirts (really good one, thanks) and medals. Thankyou to all at Handy Cross Runners and I'm already looking forward to next year.

In short: Agree with reviewer below - that hill does get steeper every year!
In full: I really like this race; it is local to me, always a great atmosphere, plenty of parking and pleasant surroundings for the family to wait in, as I plod my way around! Also agree that the first 2 km are boring, around the playing fields, I feel I am getting nowhere fast, as I can see the fast runners spreading out way ahead of me. Other than that minor gripe, I'll be back next year.

In short: Fantastic race, taking in a lot of London landmarks
In full: This race was superbly well-organised from start to finish. Plenty of loos, even the queues for them were organised! Loads of water and lucozade available and Green Park is a good place to be when waiting for the start. The bands were great on the way around, they really gave me a lift and running under Admiralty Arch and finishing in the Mall felt really special. The goody bag was great, what a good tshirt. Thankyou to everyone involved in the organisation of this race and I'll definately be back next year.

In short: Fantastic race, well organised, in lovely weather
In full: This was such a well-organised race, it can't be faulted. Thanks to Handy Cross Runners, the marshals, the spectators and everyone else involved in the organisation. I was so pleased with my time, it was my target to come in under an hour which I achieved with a couple of minutes to spare. This was due to a fellow-runner who really encouraged me in the last mile when I felt like walking; thankyou so much to her. Not that I came for the goody bag, but it's the most generous I have ever had. Thankyou everyone again and I shall be back next year.

In short: Another superbly organised race
In full: I haven't really got much to add, other than I agree with all the positive comments above. I would like to say as one of the very slowest runners, the welcome at the end, from the lovely smiley volunteers handing out space blankets, water, medals and goody bags and the Air Cadets removing timing chips, was wonderful. They made me feel as special as if I was one of the elite runners, thankyou so much.
