In short: fast flat and you get wine. a winner. In full: Ist time I have done this race but I ought to have signed up before. 2 laps around the park. Fast and flat. Pb potential. Fastest offical 5k I've done this year. Took along my sister in law along too for her first proper race. (I dont count race for life you dont get a proper time) she thoroughly enjoyed herself as did I. First lady and got a bottle of wine for my trouble. Marvellous. Date of review: September 14, 2014
In short: excellent organisation In full: great race, well organised and run like clockwork, however its not flat and it is 17 laps of the same track so make sure you got a decent audio book to listen to round and round and round! but the crowd is great, room to put your own aid station if you fancy it. Parking for a pound, no queueing for the loos and a top medal and goody box. complete with ruler to measure the size of your bling. Would thoroughly reccomend this race. certainly a PB course - I was on the tail end of a chest infection so took it slow but a good one to train for if you want a London qualifying time. In short: Accurate measurement despite the day before route change due to the boat race In full: the course was a bit boring due to the route change, but the marshals were brilliant and I would definately reccomend this race! really well organised. Date of review: April 7, 2014
In short: Flat/Undulating? Not. More like Hilly. But a great challenging run with great marshalls In full: New HQ this year - loads of free parking. Bit of a shame about there only being about 5 portaloos though? but dont we love to queue in the UK? they delayed the race 5 minutes so everyone could finish their final prep! Its not very undulating, more like hilly, but then I knew this as I did the half in 2007. PBs are possible! in 2007 I did it in 2h20. 2012 in 1h53. Pleased with that never had a 27 minute pb on a course before! As ever great marshalls shouting encouragement and pointing runners in the right direction. With large foam hands. Nice goody bag with medal and a coupon for 20% off at sweatshop. Worth the race fee just for that. Thanks TRAC. Date of review: September 3, 2012
In short: I know its 20 miles. But TRAC run it like clockwork. Excellent. In full: Parking is fine. Lovely marshals at every turn with proper bottles of water and the occasional jelly baby :) a couple of deadly hills! but they are a challenge for us all training for the spring mara I cant complain. Only grip as usual not enough portaloos! oh well. another top race TRAC well done. Especially the local scouts ;) Date of review: March 5, 2012
In short: Parking Parking Parking! but a nice enough run to get out those January cobwebs. In full: First time I've done this race - Luckily someone told me to go early because the parking was always a nightmare. They were not wrong. Think I got the last space and there were hundreds of cars behind! short queue for number and chip no probs, was crowded and not enough portaloos - but isn't the portaloo problem everywhere?
Nice route including a couple of nice but challenging hills to wake you up. Nice down hill sprint to the finish.
Have to say I agree with other runners I thought I'd finished and pulled up but there was still 50 yards to go! The finish wasnt obvious. I was relatively fast (PB :)) but I didnt see any water at the finish luckily I took my own.
Chip times when straight onto the website quickest results Ive seen!
