In short: Reasonable course but organistion at the start let the race down.
In full: Second time of running the Nike MK Half (first time from the OU). The only thing which was better today was probably the parking and the ease of getting away after the event.

The lack of organisation at the start was not good. Don't know why the 10K had to start in front of the Half when they were caught very quickly by the faster runners doing the Half, and even some of the slower ones like myself. Also why go to the trouble of asking for peoples approximate finish times when you don't use them to sort people at the start. All it takes is a few boards being held up with times on!!!

The lack of anything to eat at the end and with just a bottle of water at the finish, not what you would expect from a race of this size.

Also needed more people on the water stations as they didn't seem to be coping with the volume of people passing through at times.

Shame that a big organisation like Nike can't get this right.

On a positive note, the marshalls were encouraging and a big thanks to them.

In short: Good to do but far more challenging than the previous course.
In full: This being the 3rd year that I have done Fred Hughes 10, this years course came as a bit more of a challenge. Encouraging marshalls along the way, so a big thank you to them. The way the new course was plan was good enabling you to talk on water 3 times if you wanted to. Always good to get a medal at the end. Well done St Albans Striders.

In short: Very well organised
In full: Yes the scenery is dull, but GC Runners have this race very well organised and marshalled. Four water stations, yes I know its laps, so it makes it easier, but still very welcome. All the marshalls are very encouraging and this race is also spectator friendly. 3rd year of running this and will certainly be back next year.

In short: Great race and a great day out!
In full: Really enjoyed today, especially when the rain stopped about 10-15 minutes before the start. The price of this race may seem a bit steep but it does include entry to the zoo after. Second time of doing this and both times it has been very well organised with marker boards to line up with your expected finishing time so the pack is well sorted before the start. Well done again DRR! Will be back next year.

In short: Organisation great with a lot of marshalls - thank you
In full: This is one of our more local races with a nice early start (09.30) so on to a winner with me in the first place and a medal at the end (love a medal!). Accurate mile markers. St Albans Striders do very well to get so many marshalls on the course - all of then very encouraging! Slightly faster than last year for me but could have done better. Will be back next year for another go! Well done St Albans Striders!

In short: Well organised Race - Scenery not great!
In full: Second time of running this race. Found it to be well organised again with great marshalling. The race course is around some of the worse parts of WGC including the industrial areas but having said that it is traffic free on the cycleways. Enjoyed the race today with PB's for myself and husband. Would do this race again as it is local and Garden City Runners seem to do a very good job with the organisation. Nice medal as well!

In short: Excellect PB potential for the Thorney 5
In full: First time that myself and husband have run this race. Very well organised and sets a high standard for publishing the offical results on the day and on-line. Great momento and excellent race for both of us.

In short: For Bushfield Joggers 1st Bushey 10K - Well done!
In full: Both myself and husband got PB's - so definitely a fast course, but unfortunately very dull due to the industrial estate start. Though running in the shade along the cyclepath was quite pleasant as it was quite warm. This event was well marshalled and they were very incouraging.

In short: Great Fun in the MUD!
In full: Enjoyed this event even though the concentraion levels required watching your footing made it hard work. Glad the rain stopped just before the start. Well done to all the Marshalls stood out in the damp conditions! Plan to be back next year to complete all three events rather than just the one this year.
