In short: fab day out!
In full: Fab , beautiful challenging and well organised race with some nice touches (wine tasting)
However disapointed at lack of vegetarian hot food not all of us can survive post race on a bag of salt and vinegar and a coffee especialy when its along car journey home. For us oldies who only operate in miles! mile markers as well as kilometre markers please! Plus a bit pricey for a 10k!

In short: Fab, well worth entering a great first trip up north, just about worth the 9hr car journey up and the 11hr car journey back!
In full: Loved the whole experience of the GNR , the people, the organisation the brilliant pre-and post massage service (the therapists were just fab). Only complaint was the mix of runners in the 1.45-2hr group some runners had clearly over estimated there speed potentaial! I can accept walking at 10 miles but 2miles! and there were more than a few!. Felt it slowed me down, hard to get a pace up especialy at the end. I was realistic not expecting a P.B at such a busy half but felt I was slowed down a bit!. However the whole experience was great. Never realised how stunning South Shields is.

In short: disapointing, badlyorganised, bottleneck course, overcrowded! could do better!
In full: my home town half, how disapointing! over subscribed, no time places, course in part so narrow in places you had to walk, or run in the road narrowly missing traffic (i saw one bus swerve to avoid runners,) no crowd control, lots of elbowing and shoving as a result of the above. Water stations sighns not visable. Long waits at the finish line for every thing and no goody bag! unsupervised baggage area. I feel very sad for the first time half runners , I know in previous years this has been a fab race. Bad weather and change of course is no excuse for bad organisation.
Thanks to all those who volunteered, and supported on such a horrible day (and those who ran)

In short: I am so pleased that Barnes Green was my first half marothon, because the experience was so positive. Well organised, good pre-race info , really friendly/helpful marshalls ( who were plentiful and well placed along the route)
