In short: Great cake, great organisation, great weather - what more do you want!
In full: Excellent marshalls, the weather was perfect and the cake was worth the slog round :)

In short: Great Race, low key, no hassle, it did what it said on the tin
In full: First timer on this course after reading previous good reviews and seeing it in the top 10 Half Marathons list. It was the start of a perfect day, managed a new PB and then dashed across to Wembley to watch PFC win 2-0 in the FA Cup Semi Final. If I am being picky would prfer 1) Bottled water as most of the water from the cups ends up down me, 2) A medal over a mug & 3) Chip timing. However, even if no changes are made I will still be back next year! Thanks for all the hard work in organising this race.

In short: Great day out - shame the course was 0.2 miles long!
In full: Great marshals, great weather, nice course. Start a bit chaotic, no expected finish time start positions and the start being moved back did not help. Mile markers very approximate & course long by about 0.2 miles not ideal. No PB but still enjoyed it and hope to be back next year :)

In short: First 8 miles a joy - then the mud kicked in but still a great race although appeared a bit short
In full: Plus points - First 8 miles fantastic, even with a bit of head wind and rain. Loved the jelly beans/baby's on route at various points. Very friendly atmosphere.

Minus points - Distance appeared to be approx 0.2 miles short. Route map showed a slightly different route on the way back at Southsea Castle, (approx mile 5) looked like we cut the corner off. From then on the mile markers were out of sync. This took the edge off an otherwise great day (unless it was my Garmin that threw a wobbly for the very first time?) I ran past the finish line to make up the shortfall and still got a PB so VERY happy. Will be back next year.

In short: Great race, best goodie bag ever, just needs chip timing
In full: Great to see last years comments turned into positive improvements for this year. I can't see why runners moan about the airfield section(s), it is traffic free, flat and wide. The water feature was not ideal but was certainly memorable (and cold! The marshals were very encouraging. The run along the prom was great. Will be back next year and hope the cake is in the goodie bag again :)

In short: The organisation was 10 out of 10
In full: Excellent race (even though I had a nightmare run), mile markers very good, drink stations very good (would still prefer bottled water as when drinking from the plstic cups, most of it goes on the floor or over me and only about 2 mouthfulls end up in my gob!). The local support was great. Well done to the organisers. Hope to be back next year. Only minor comment - lack of loos at the start (at least a lot of the bushes on the edges of the field got a watering along with the blokes fence he was just about to paint who was not that impressed!)

In short: It's all about the PB!
In full: The weather was just perfect and the course is flat so what more can you ask for, especially in December! I hope many people got a new PB this year. I knocked 68 seconds off my PB so I had a great day, see you next year in September :)

P.S. Would prefer chip timing (even with the extra expense) as it always makes a race seem far more 'official' and important.

In short: It's all about the PB!!!!
In full: I have read many of the reviews, come on people, give GRR a break - Race day's are all about trying to get a new PB and a lot of you are saying you got one, even with the dodgy start. A lot of people were not happy with the airfield but it provided very safe traffic free running on wide open flat roads for several miles, what more do you want! Yes the start was a disaster but that can be sorted out for next year. The parking also needs sorting as the ticket machines were a joke. Agree for next year about the start/finish and parking being in or near the airfield. It felt like the marshalls got more enthusiastic as the race got nearer the finish which was very helpful.
In summary:

Did I get a PB - YES
Did I enjoy the day - YES
Will I be back - YES
Do I want chip timing - YES

Things for improvement that we all recognised:
1. Start
2. Parking

Many thanks GRR, keep the faith Dave :)
