In short: Relay teams well catered for as well
In full: As a Hasher and doing the race as part of a relay team this race is one of the few which seem to actively accommodate for the Hashing fraternity with dust on the ground (at least those bits not washed away) and enough Shiggy (hash speak for mud) to make it fun. Even as a runner this is a good event.

In short: A bit of a challenge this one
In full: No use looking for PB's on this race it's a grind uphill followed by a bit of cross country before a grind back along the beach. However whilst tough in places it's not an impossible race even for new(ish) runners and the setting is glorious even in the rain and driving wind.
I'll be back next year, by which time my kit might have dried out.

In short: Long climb to the end
In full: Really nicely paced race till near the end where it was a mild uphill gradient for the last mile or so. Friendly and well marshalled though and well worth doing again.

In short: A nice big friendly event
In full: A nice friendly event with the start and finnish lines close to each other and something for spectators to be watching for most of the time. With the town centre nearby it also makes for a decent day out as well. The course was fairly easy being mostly flat with just the challenging zig-zag path up to the cliff top to break the pace caatch the unwary. Two water stations and Kilometre markers every km were welcome and the marshals were plentiful but unobtrusive. A very nice experience.

In short: Challenging enough to be a satisfying race to complete
In full: For the beginer to racing this was a fairly chalenging course with fairly long uphill sections which steepened in places. However it's not all hills and the setting is charming and spectators have good access and things to do. The long straight into the finish running towards the house is a great end to the race. Recomended.
