In short: So much better organised than previous years In full: Near perfect running conditions. After 'difficulties' in previous years this race ran well today. No problems with toilets or baggage as in previous years. Well marshalled and frequent water stations. Race is certainly at its limit size-wise a fair bit of jostling in first couple miles. Fairly steep entry fee but demand is there. Date of review: February 17, 2013

In short: The usual class race In full: Well done again to Albert and the Waddies. You always put on a good event and this year was no exception. Excellent service from signing up to post finish line recovery. Great organisation and value - difficult to think of any significant improvements. Date of review: July 10, 2012

In short: Leave your garmin behind and enjoy ! In full: Fantastic race through fields, woodland trials, promenades, cobbled and sandy beaches, up flights of stone steps, up and along the Needles cliff top and a storming 3 mile downhill finish. Not one for PB hunters but the scenery is outstanding and event well organised and friendly with a great HQ. My slowest 1/2M time but one of my all time most enjoyable races. In short: Well organised fast blast along the seafront In full: A well organised race agreeing with previous posters - hassle free, parking right at the start, fast flat course. Certainly a PB course as advertised - chip timing would be great for the future. Date of review: April 8, 2012

In short: Just about as good as races get In full: Extremely well organised and great value for money. The praise from other posters is well deserved. I've done this race for the last 5 years and it has never disappointed and certainly an annual 'must do'. Well done TW Harriers and their organising committee ! Date of review: February 27, 2012

In short: Usual great race In full: My 4th year in a row with this one - a firm favourite on my running calendar. Usually part of an autumn marathon training plan - lack of marathon this year explained my slower time than usual. Always well organised and usually medal / goody bag very generous. Obviously times are harder all round at present.
My only gripe this year was the car parking. I got there 50 mins before race time and was directed to the public car park. There was a single pay machine with a 30 min queue as you had to enter car registration on your ticket. Many people must have had a late start - I certainly had an impromtu warm up jog to the start. Most frustratingly there were loads of empty spaces at the school.
However, love this race, especially the 2nd half and will certainly be up for it next year. Thanks again Maidstone Harriers! Date of review: October 18, 2010

In short: Superbly organised event - well done the Waddies In full: Congratulations to Albert Kemp / Martin Burke and the rest of the Wadhurst Club for another great event this year - just gets better and better. Supremely well organised and great value. Tough but great course. Now if you could just flatten off those hills at the end for next year - that would be great!

In short: Well deserves all the positive feedback - top class race. In full: A glorious but tough race. Faultless organisation, well marshalled (despite the long winding course) and certainly appreciated the gels at the water stations later on. The technical T-shirt, medal, cake, etc were all nice touches making the race a real bargain too. I would agree a slightly earlier start would be preferable as it is a long race. The only very minor gripe (and beyond the organisers control) were the 2 non-flushing gents toilets in the Leisure Centre - wouldn't fancy being the duty plumber after the race! But seriously, congratulations to the organisers for a great event and will be back next year with a bit more hill and off-road training beforehand. Date of review: June 21, 2010

In short: Well organised, friendly event with good facilities In full: What a joy to have parking, race HQ, toilets and the race start all close together. Well organised event with supportive marshalls. Really enjoyed the race as well! Great work Folkestone Runners! Date of review: April 2, 2010

In short: As advertised - a good training run for a spring marathon In full: I would agree wholeheartedly with the comments already posted. It is a good marathon training run with basic support and to be fair the organisation of any 20 mile race would be far from easy. The positives - excellent marshalling, road closures with police support and a very friendly flat course. I didn't think it was overpriced given the above + chip timing which can't be cheap (still haven't seen the results though!). I didn't find the multiple laps too bad either. The negatives - portaloos inadequate in number and function (most people will want to use them before a long race), exposed location with no facilites and the lack of a sugar fix at the end of a 20 miler was the most disappointing for me - surely a chocolate bar or piece of fruit wouldn't break the bank? Still - all in all pleased I did it - thanks Worthing Harriers. Date of review: March 29, 2010
