In short: OK as a run, but many slower runners In full: Managed to get over start line about 5 mins after start (they need a timing clock there). Still had to dodge around walkers starting at about 200m into the run, and pretty crowded up to about 7k. Baggage drop off and collection went without a hitch (arrived at 8.10). Long wait for the start (spent fretting about whether I would want a toilet break). Scenery is OK, but to be honest the only decent bit was running over the bridge by parliament and around parliament square. This was the toughest race to get to for me (living outside London). Took so long from house-set-off to start of race, so would only recommend if you live in London near a tube station. Date of review: July 7, 2008

In short: Nice, scenic, flat race In full: Enjoyable race around a flat course. Weather was good too. Enjoyed it - and there were medals this year! Only slight niggles were queues for toilets and narrowness of first couple of k. Overall it was a really great run and I will be back next year. Date of review: May 19, 2008

In short: Great race - fantastic to run around the GP circuit. In full: Enjoyable jaunt around the racing circuit. A little warmer than last year, but being flattish there was a nice breeze. Date of review: May 7, 2008

In short: Nice day, hills are steep in places In full: Great scenery and a nice run down to the finish. Quite hilly in my opinion. A little bit icy in a couple of places. Only downside, quite a long way from my home (hence maybe on do it again) Date of review: February 11, 2008

In short: Good race, well organised, well marshalled. A few hills! Weather held out! In full: I enjoyed this run. You get to run down a big hill on the way out. Unfortunately it is still there on the way back! Lots of puddles on the lanes to splosh through due to the incessant rain (which actually held off for the whole race). Finish was nice - and what a fantastic medallion at the end! Date of review: July 1, 2007

In short: Great location, well organised event - traffic getting in was the only downside In full: I enjoyed the run, although a relative beginner, so haven't done too many 10ks (well only the Oxford T&G before). Course is relatively narrow all around which made overtaking, particularly on the first hill a bit challenging. Note to self: 'make sure you are in about the right place for your time'. Uphill for the first couple of km, then undulating up to a peak at 5k then downhill all the way home, apart from a nasty little hill at 8.5km. I found the overall distance to the finish line hard to judge, so expending those last few tortured bits of energy in a mad dash at the end was tricky.
It did take a while to get to the parking, although it does warn you of that fact in the information about the event.
I may do it again in October (unless I am doing the new forest marathon / half).
Overall I am very glad I did it. Thanks to the organisers! Great event! Date of review: March 4, 2007
