In short: a mental challenge more than a physical one!!
In full: having runa couple of 10K's around the lake it is always a mental battle because the course is so uninteresting and you can see how far you have to run and how fast the faster runners are doing! BUT, it was an excellent event, worth the money as i have no problem paying a little extra for charity and the atmosphere was family like.
Like others on the forum, i did feel the postage of materials was a bit excessive, all the money raised was blown on marketing material and postage when in fact that could have been limited to downloadable materials (lower carbon footprint and waste) and promotional material given at the event. T-shirts are best given at the event with a coupon for collection sent out with race numbers. It is a struggle for charities trying to raise money particularly as an Asthma charity is not as "trendy" as some of the others despite the importance of its cause. So bottom line cut back on postage and keep it to one mail out with less bulk and use the next more as a tool for promotion and forms to help you keep more of the money.

Other than that, excellent event!

In short: excellent course, excellent marshalls a definite for the annual race calendat
In full: very well organised event with just the right number of water stations, good course with its challenging moments with a little help from the wind. Only challenge was with speeding drivers, in particular one in a 4X4 in lower woodford and the other a white van man at mile 6 just after the water station who was particularly dangerous and ignorant so a few more police enroute would be good or number plate spotters!!! other than that an excellent enjoyable event!

In short: excellent event, i ran and my 5 year old too. Great atmosphere
In full: despite the heat and missing my PB by 45 seconds it was a fun day. My wife, daughter and mother came along so it made for a fun day which rounded off at about 2.30pm whereas most race events finish right after the main event and everyone disappears! so overall, lets hope for a cooler 2009 so i can beat my PB.
If anyone wants the perfect PB course try the Bristol 10K which i managed my personal best beating my last best time by 2 seconds!!

In short: first time on this course, really enjoyed it!
In full: excellent course, nice steady hill climb for the first 5k, followed by a nice steady downhill for the last 5k, so if you have done your hill training and speed training it really could be a good PB course!
My family enjoyed the Zoo and my 5 year old daughter did really week in the fun run!

In short: Nice fast flat, bit tricky with public, dogs and the odd duck in the way
In full: Nice course, real PB potential (acheived my own PB), no distance markers which i decided was a positive as i find reaching the 6K markers very depressing knowing i have another 4K to do, perhaps someone stole the markers. Marshalling was limited around the course, but did see some brave marshalls doing a great job on the roads and having a right to do with some posh lady in a Merc who was getting a little impatient having to wait for all us healthy types. All in all a nice day out.
