In short: Lovely race. The hill's a pain but unless all you worry about is PBs (or minimum pain) then it's a nice low key, scenic race.
In full: There's good parking, plenty of helpful and smiling marshalls, a lovely route through the countryside and then tea and cake afterwards - not much more you could ask for from a local event (or any for that matter).

Ideally there wouldn't be a bit of a big hill after 4 miles or a temperature a few degrees hotter than ideal, but the former just adds to the challenge and the latter to your tan.

I need to run a different 5 mile race to set a good PB but I'll continue to run this one for fun anyway.

In short: Pretty good, some gripes but overall a nice race to do.
In full: Considering the weather wasn't ideal I thought the 'crowds' were very good and the on-road marshalls did a fine job considering the slightly impatient drivers. The route's fine, and probably on a sunny day it's a bit more impressive.

Only complaint was the that the start/finish area was very cramped and it lacked in the usual services such as baggage storage, obvious changing rooms etc, which considering it was run by 2:09 was a surprise.

Still the route is decent in terms of view & challenge and it went smoothly enough so I'll be back.

In short: Very well organised, nice scenery & a good race, although I could have done without the hill at 4 miles

In short: Very good event, ideal for a first time half-marathoner.
In full: Enjoyed this thoroughly.

Route was decent for both PBs & a first time runner - only a couple of hills (nothing frightening) although the last 2 miles were fairly dull (although I wasn't paying a lot of attention at that point).

Organisation was good & the bands were a welcome addition, while there was good levels of crowd support all the way round.

Will definitely be back next year.
