In short: Fun running in the sun on a scenic off road undulating route In full: Sixth time running this event, and it just gets better and better. Amazing organisation from Albert at Wadhurst Runners and Nice-Work Event Management team. Fantastic email just before the event advising of the surface and whether to wear trail or road shoes. Cheerful, happy marshals round the course, all cheering you on. Its sad that so many people don't realise how much a simple 'thank you marshal' can mean to those standing out voluntarily for hours on end so we can run. Best of all, a bespoke medal at the end, a technical t-shirt in a variety of sizes and an amazing range of free cakes at the end, and I mean AMAZING. Love the race, love the organisation, will be back again Date of review: July 5, 2016
In short: Fantastic fun despite the weather In full: My 4th time running this event and I still enjoy it as much as the first year.
It consisted of 11 miles of mud, 2 miles of fields, 2 miles of roads with steep hills, 3 stiles to climb over and 4 bike chicanes to negotiate making it a truly special and original race.
The whole event is a credit to Wadhurst Runners and Nicework Events who together make the event run like clockwork. The after race cakes, drinks and even beer for those so inclined, is a welcome treat. Date of review: July 7, 2015
In short: Scenic course with a few lumps In full: First time I've done this race but it won't be the last.
Nice scenic route. We were warned at the start about the pot holes in the road surface, which were quite large in places due to all the bad weather. Plenty of marshals along the route, which had 2 hills on each of the laps, so 6 in total.
Slick organisation, nice location for HQ, with plenty of on site car parking - always a bonus. The only down side was the mile 17 drinks station running out of water just as I got there. It won't stop me doing the race again though. Date of review: March 9, 2014
In short: Hilly but scenic In full: Great race, lots of hills but noticeable downs as well as the ups. Wonderful organisation by Becca and her team, made all the better by the 'love heart' sweets in the goody bag at the end.
Nice long sleeve running top to take away. Highly recommend this race to others as a pre spring marathon warm up. Date of review: February 19, 2014
In short: Spot on organisation In full: The sun shone, the wind blew, but it didn't rain! First time I have run this event and it was a good starting point for the season. Great organisation, parking close by, good venue with nice refreshments.
Course had a few gradual inclines and declines, but nothing to get worried about, great scenary, and wonderful marshals. Date of review: February 4, 2014
In short: Glorious sun run on the sea front In full: Having particpated in this race last year when the weather was wet and windy, this years race in the sun was bliss. The event organisation was excellent with cheerful organisers and friendly marshalls. The course is predominantly flat and therefore fast with lots of encouragement from pedestrians and dog walkers (just mind the extendable dog leads). I really enjoyed this race and will hopefully be back again next year. Date of review: April 7, 2013
In short: Excellent organsation and ideal running route In full: The pre event information,on the day organisation and event management were excellent. Number pick up, baggage drop off, car park signage were all well organied, and although a slightly narrow start with a sharp turn, there was enough space for everyone to spread out. The marshalls were excellent, very encouraging, despite the cold chill and the odd snow flurry. Great 20 mile course, no repeat loops and great for setting PB's. other runners were really friendly.
The goody bag and t-shirt were a nice gesture. Date of review: March 4, 2013
