In short: Great and hilly! In full: I did the 5K and not the 1/2 marathon. But it was still hilly. What I did like was that you could always see how far you were behind the leaders. The goody bag was excellant and all the organisation was smooth. Date of review: February 18, 2006
In short: Good marshalling, water station half way. Great mixture of abilities and ages. In full: Like the T-shirt, nice bright red makes a nice change from white. Just think the toilets let it down, really do think next year they should invest in a dozen portaloos to keep up with demand. 2 out of 3 in the club house didn't flush, bit of a health hazard. And took a while for them to open up the public loos. Date of review: October 2, 2005
In short: Good flat course for PBs and can choose between 5 & 10K In full: Did say part of the course was off road, should have been the other way round!
Organisation was good, apart from when the two races split into two and the front runners of the 5K ended up going the wrong way. Once the marshalls corrected the mistake, these guys had probably added 40 secs with the extra distance they ran.
But a really good mix of runners and facilities were great on site. Date of review: September 12, 2005
In short: Great psychological boost when even the not so fast can lap others In full: Only problem was the walkers at the back could have been a little more considerate and not walked side by side in threes. Date of review: May 9, 2005
In short: Charity race, no PB's here In full: Only chance of a PB is if your a celeb or top athlete, the rest have to find their way through the walkers and pushchairs. Shame as the course is good. Date of review: September 30, 2004
