In short: Spectacular!
In full: This was my first big race and I wasn't disappointed. The support from the locals was fantastic, especially the four older ladies blasting out Status Quo from their car and playing inflatable electric guitars, Elvis and also the retired couple who let me use their toilet at the start. This race wasn't about getting a PB for me or many of the other runners, it was about taking part and raising lots of money for charity. It's the only race I've ever been handed water by Tanni Grey-Thomson. Yes, it is expensive but it was worth every penny.

In short: Challenging!
In full: Fantastic scenery though on the third lap I wasn't taking much notice of it! My legs haven't ached so much in a long time. Friendly atmosphere and encouraging marshalls. Great day out, beautiful weather, I'm looking forward to doing it again next year.

In short: Friendly, well organised race
In full: Really enjoyed this race. There were a few hills but none of them were too challenging. The course went through some lovely villages. Plenty of local support apart from the grumpy old lady driving a Skoda in Risley! Great family event hosted by friendly villagers, will be back next year (very tempted to move there!) A medal would have been nice though rather than a paper certificate.

In short: More people should do this race!
In full: This was the best race I've done this year. I thought the 10k distance would be easy but it was a challenging race for someone used to the flat and even paths of Milton Keynes! It's quite hilly in places but you really get a sense of achievement once you've completed it. A very friendly, laid back and family oriented event, plenty of ordinary people, not full of elite runners! The marshalls were excellent, great medal and goodie bag at the end, everyone had their name, number and time called out by the announcer at the finish. Made me feel special! Free bananas at start and finish were appreciated! Really well organised. Will definately do this race next year, great fun.
