In short: My FAVOURITE race. Fourth time and will be back again In full: It has all been said before. Fabulously organised, kept up to date per race re weather possibilities and everything organised so well. Thank you so much to everyone involved in setting it up and those out in the cold for hours on end. Thanks for the excellent support too from those braving the cold as it was much appreciated. Great facilities and a race I relish each time I enter. Half marathon PB today too! Date of review: February 24, 2013

In short: Gutted course was short In full: The course that we ran was different to the course that was shown on the website map. In essence we cut off a section of road three times. What a shame as it's an excellent course for pbs. Also I finished in the top half of runners and there was no water at the end. Big shame. Marshalls were fantastic and atmosphere great too will have to look to Paddock Wood for a Pb next. Date of review: February 14, 2011

In short: A really unusual race, excellent HQ in hotel, two distances tochoose from, A20 path was cramped and muddy with cars speeding past. Lack of organisation of the marshalls on remote country lanes meant I got lost and ran more than 3 extra miles.... In full: Fantastic facitities at the start. Remarkably, and uniquely in my experience, there was even no queue for the loo! Staggered start needed because much of the race was on a narrow path along the busy A20. Overtaking was very difficult but runner numbers were small enough that this was not a major problem. There were lots of marshalls which was good, however the remote lanes have many side turns and I frequently found myself guessing which way to go. At nine miles continuing on the main lane proved to be an error and I ran, along with the race leader, about 1.8 miles until a cycling marshall caught us and sent us back up the hill to the course. Needless to say the 24.5 miles was slightly more than I had planned for the day. Another minor grumble was the 20 mile post was only a few hundred yards short of the '21 mile' finish line. Despite my comments, if the course is signposted carefully next time and ideally if there is less A20 footpath, then this could become an excellent event. Date of review: March 28, 2010
