In short: Bedford Harriers set the benchmark
In full: A wonderfully organised event, a credit to Bedford Harriers. A challenging course as it's more up/down than flat and featureless. great marshalls, and nice touches having jelly babies and isotonic drink available at the end.

will definitely do it again, cheers, Al

In short: Too Expensive, Last 3 miles needs to be improved.
In full: Despite the twisty sections through Cambridge City Centre I quite enjoyed this part of the race. I did however not enjoy the out/back loop to Stourbridge common. far too tight and too much elbow bashing and worst still no place for tired runners to easily pull over if they are struggling in the last mile alongside the old gas-works.

The goodybag was an absolute joke - £25 entry fee for a goody-bag containing a handful of adverts, then a bag of crisps, bottle of water, pack of chewing gum and a go-ahead biscuit bar.

I can only assume either it cost them a lot to organise (police+road closures) or the organisers were simply cashing in on the "big city race".

I do hope this is not the case and they actually donated a large chunk of the entry fee to charities, otherwise someone has cashed in.

In short: Quick course, couple of lumps and bumps, a 2 lap dash
In full: Great race, I was just a minute behind my PB, I would definitely recommend this course to anyone thinking to attempt a 10 miler for the first time.

I thought the mass/group "warm up" at the start was a good laugh and certainly helped with pre-race jitters, you can only imagine the sight of seeing 100s of lyrca clad runners attempt the macarena!

Anne Widdecombe would be safe company with us lot!

In short: a few bumps along the way (not flat!) but a good course, and plenty of potential for a good time, if there isn't a strong wind like in 2009!

In short: Cross Country - not a "Fun Run" - distance is actually nearer 11km
In full: good challenging course, with some great hills to get the legs screaming. Distance is some 6.7miles so not PB material. However very well run, great cakes and tea/coffee afterwards and free bananas. Very worthwhile event - all proceeds going to local school. Will do it again!

In short: My First Marathon - why did it have to be so hot? in the end proud to see my name in the list of "finishers" - would be nice to start the race a bit earlier - climate change is here now!
