In short: A most enjoyable race. In full: A most enjoyable race and I really can't see the fuss about the gravel, having read previous years' comments I was expecting some terrible ankle breaking finish. Despite the undulating course this has the potential as a fast race. I think a good field helped carry me along and improve my time, just outside a PB. If you arrive early enough parking is very convenient and there is the bonus of a few showers at the sports centre. Only moans were the lack of a goody bag, and it is a shame there is not more through the centre of such a lovely historic town. (Do not enter this online - sorry Runners World- but you were 4 pounds more expensive and I did not get my entry pack in time.) Date of review: February 22, 2010

In short: Great route. In full: Having done this for a few years this was the best route yet, especially the woodland start. As ever, it ran like clockwork and parking is as easy and convenient as they come. The pie van at the end was a welcome addition. The distance makes this a very handy start of the year training run. In short: Great new event. In full: The weather made for quite a special race. As others have said, it would have been good to know how far the start was from the car park. Very well organised, a friend did this as his first 10K and it was a baptism by fire (or at least water/rain/hail/mud/etc) The conditions certainly made this a more interesting race more up there with Hell Runner type etc. Date of review: November 22, 2009

In short: Well organised. In full: As others said, the wind did kill a PB so running around an airstrip is not the most exciting course. Great for parking and getting to and from the event. Date of review: April 21, 2009

In full: A great race on a beatuiful day. Very well organised and a surprising chance for a PB. The hills were short and sharp with long gradual downhills. Compared to a number of other races this seems a bargain. I would pay more for such a good cause. I agree more toilets would nbe a bonus. I'll be back. Date of review: April 5, 2009

In short: Get covered in mud and smell like a cow. In full: This, too, was my first trail race and I loved it. Strangely, the pain was not as bad as road races as you simply have too many other things to think about; staying upright and navigating the most shallow route through bogs. (I now realise this is total luck.) A new sensation was trying to see through your own steam following waist deep freezing water. Obviously the Turbo X zone is ironic, you can barely 'run' through any of it. Will be back for more. Date of review: November 24, 2008

In short: Great race but the sun baked cow fields were a killer! In full: A great family event; friends and family were well looked after whilst I sweated around the fields. I was hoping for a run on which to do a PB but this was certainly not the one. The terrain was interesting; twisting, turning, over and under trees. Overall I was disappointed with my time but pleased with my final position. I would have liked to have seen a longer finishing straight. Great marshalls, thank you. Date of review: April 22, 2007
