In short: First marathon, not my last In full: This was my firat marathon, but despite being hampered by a knee injury in the month leading up to the race, and as a result having to walk from mile 18, the race was brilliant. The crowds are really unbelievable, and carried me through to the end with their support. I'm still buzzing from the experience. Fingers crossed that ballot place comes through in 2010! In short: Great seaside run In full: First time at this race, second half marathon - beat my previous time by 17s so I was happy. Great organisation, friendly and supportive marshals, nice route. Only downside was mile 10-13 - was hard to run to finish line (virtually) then run in the opposite direction for what felt like ages. Was really sorry not to get a medal either, esp. since I was really looking forward to getting one! Otherwise was a really good race though, and the positives outweighed my little gripes - which can't be bad since i live in Edinburgh and had a fair travel to get there! In short: Fantastic first half-marathon In full: Great race through lovely, scenic countryside, and past some very tempting pubs. I'm really please to have made this my first half-marathon, and i'll definitely be back for next year. The race organiser was very helpful and answered lots of questions via the forum and e-mail. Nice touch to give out glass souvenier for 25th Anniversary race. Give this race a try in 2008! Date of review: October 15, 2007

In short: Great first 10K In full: What a fantastic race! This was my first 10K and I really really enjoyed it. That slope at Queen's Drive feels so much harder than it looks, but the downhill afterwards feels all the sweeter because of it. Organisation was like clockwork. Loved the t-shirt & medal but goody bag could have had more in it for the price. Water stations were great...tons of water left and I was in the last wave and i'm not mega fast, so can't imagine they ran out. Will definitely do it next year, and hopefully be able to shave some time off! Date of review: May 8, 2007
