In short: Such fun!!
In full: This is one of those races that as soon as you’ve done it you just know you will be back next year for more. Excellent value, medal, goodie bag, heaps of fruit and water and a day at the zoo all included. The first kilometre took us around the zoo then out to the neighbouring roads. In the first 5k there were a few cheeky inclines to make you work a bit harder. Marshalling was good and there were two water stations on route. The last 5k was mainly down hill and a good chance to pick up some pace before entering back into the zoo for the last few hundred metres. It was chip timing and results were posted up straight away. There was a great atmosphere with the kids 1k beforehand. No one seemed to care that the start of the 10k was slightly delayed as you could always go and look at the penguins nearby. I don’t know how they managed to provide so much for such a reasonable entrance fee, well done to all involved and Marwell Zoo.

In short: Definitely breathtaking!
In full: Firstly thank you to Lord and Lady Digby for allowing us to run around their lovely estate. This is a new race and personally I thought it was very good. The hill “burn” at the start was hard but after that the course levelled out more evenly with one or two tricky declines to negotiate. The course went through the surrounding countryside (past the famous giant) and the last kilometre was through the estate’s ornamental gardens. The cakes and doughnuts at the end were a nice touch. A well organised race that was as hard as you wanted to make it.

In short: The clue is in the name!
In full: Was quite worried about this one, the name giving the best clue that this wasn’t going to be easy. Its multi terrain, ups and downs, plenty of stiles that got more and more slippery to get over. On a fine day the views would have been stunning and even though it rained a bit you could still see along the coast line. The steps were the killer, they hurt and you can’t really stop as it’s more or less single file, so that kept you going knowing you would cause a step-jam! Was great to finish and first thoughts were “never again” but of course would do it again, it’s a great race! The t-shirt is really good too. Next year will make sure to have plenty of time to go for a cream tea after in the lovely village of Corfe.

In short: Glorious weather and a great run around Dorset
In full: Did this race last year in the pouring rain but even then could see that this was a pretty good place for a road race so promised myself would do it again this year (rain or shine). Luckily the sun was shining and the 20k course around Puddletown goes through country lanes and pretty little villages. It was a pleasure to run and even though this year wasn’t a league race there were quite a few club runners there to enjoy the course. The finish was great. After picking up your t-shirt you were offered copious amounts of chocolate, choc ices, ice lollies and squash, the latter going down a treat as we were quite hot by then. A real friendly atmosphere at the end and if you wanted you could use the school facilities to freshen up. Managed to run it seven minutes faster than last year too so well happy!

In short: Glorious weather and a great run
In full: Such a fab day and what better way to spend a warm sunny morning than running round the marvellous countryside of Bradford upon Avon. Friendly race and well marshalled. Started by the Avon then up to canal path, through fields/woodland with hardly any tarmac, yay. Plenty of slippery mud, stiles and gates to contend with and the river crossing was fun. Afterwards there was yummy homemade cakes, tea and coffee and chocs. Definitely would do this one again but perhaps next time with trail shoes!

In short: Mud glorious mud
In full: They promised hills and mud and that is what we got plus a bit of rain just to make the course a tad more slippery. A tough race with obstacles, slides, mud, hills, mud, water, mud oh and a few more hills. The mud sucked some trainers off. A great challenge and something completely different from pounding boring ole tarmac. Faultless organisation by Votwo. Many thanks to the friendly farmer who's land it is. Def do again at Bridport and also going to do the Kamikaze Final Sortie in East Sussex

In short: Fabulous New Forest 10k
In full: Never done this one before and although there was a mile walk from the holiday park to the start this was a good warm up. The hilly bits were challenging but the weather was fab and the scenery...well it's the New Forest!! The cheering at the end from everyone at the finish was brilliant, felt very special, so a big thank you to all those people.

In short: Cold and icy but rewarding.
In full: Third time so becoming a regular event. Like the fact it's off road, scenic and slightly challenging especially this year with the icy puddles! Parking no problem and getting away this year was fine. Wish I'd seen the 5k finish with the lady and the dogs! All being well will definitely be back again next/this year.
