In short: Brilliant In full: Best organised and best value for money of any race I've done. You'd pay more than the entry fee just for the t shirt. Organisation was faultless - route well marshalled and well signed, plenty of parking, results on line the same day. Course was excellent - even enjoyed the hills. If you run you should do this race. In short: Mud and hills In full: My first trail race. Great weather on the day but very muddy. The flat bit round the reservoir was more like running through the reservoir in places. Not a pb course, but good fun. Good 2 mile race for the kids before the main race - which also included that last killer hill. Date of review: October 5, 2008
In short: Good family friendly run In full: Good well organised run, nice course over a mixture of roads, farm tracks and paths. Did my worst time of the year, but not because of the course. Good fun run which my 8 year old son really enjoyed. Date of review: September 14, 2008
In short: Good course, shame about the toilets. In full: Good race, but more hills than I'd expected. Well marshalled, and I got a pb. I did see two runners near the back of the field who weren't sure which way to turn though.
There were nowhere near enough toilets at the main car park - only three portaloos. The toilets inside the college were open but there were no signs to tell you this.
There was a lack of signs to the start from the car park, and no signs to the finish. My family were given three separate directions to the finish and didn't get there in time to see me finish.
With a few more signs, some marshalls in the car parks and more toilets this would be a very good race. Date of review: March 30, 2008
In short: Fun race for a good cause, but crowded start In full: I started running a few months ago so that I could enter this event. Organisation and course were very good, but the km markers were not obvious, and I missed a couple. The start was very crowded - all runners with expected times of 40-60 mins were bunched together and I couldn't run at the pace I wanted until about 4km. Nevertheless, a very enjoyable race, but not one for a PB due to the crowds. Date of review: June 24, 2007
