In short: Superb Race
In full: I have experienced time trial events before the Wombourne 5k series which is excellent run by the same organisers. this was my first time trial over a long distance and in my opinion the whole event was well organised.the actual run was challenging with the short sharp shock of the canal bridges. A big thank you to all the marshals and the barge fraternity for their encouragement and drinks. I did partake in a bottle or 2 at the Pitcher and Piano I will definately do this again next year and hope to have the same arrangement at the Pitcher and Piano. Footnote I got a cracking deal at the Nove hotel so me and the wife made a night of it in Broad Strret.

In short: Great run atmosphere at the finish excellent
In full: Thanks to the pople who had hosepipes and water out. This run was as enjoyable as last year. I did the Edingburgh marathon and did this run to test my fitness and I was extremely happy with my time and Finish place as i was only a minute slower than last year. I also coped with the hill at 8 1/2 mile better. I will definately do this again next year.

In short: very good traffic free route testing in the last 3 miles
In full: Very good Traffic free course but beware of the flat and undulating description. this is the first time I have done this race and it did not register with me that it was an out and return course. This meant I got my pacing completely wrong as the outward 3 mile is lots of downhill sections with a fairly steep climb upto the 3 mile marker. I faded badly in the last two miles running up the uphill sections towards the finish.I found the pathway upto the finish in dawley particularly testing.
This race attracts a high standard of club runners, but beginners and average runners can feel comfortable in this race because the atmosphere is excellent.

In short: Excellent race Great memento Paperweight
In full: Excellent course the hill on the last mile is a killer. Goody bag very good , the paperwight makes a fantastic change from medals that will not be shoved into a draw and forgotton.
The only thing I would change is for the annoucers at the start to have a megaphone or pa system because it was hard to hear the announcements.
I would definately do this race next year

In short: gret for speed work
In full: As I am training for a half marathon I have entered all the races in the series. With the staggered starts it is great for speed work as you are racing against the clock and not worrying about the rest of the field.

In short: Very tough but rewarding 10K
In full: This is my second year and I wil probably do it next year. the race is well organised has a great atmosphere and a good field. It attracts a lot of club runners but beginners and unattached runners need not feel out of place. It is a very tough 10K with some real killer hills. The secret to completing this as a new runner or a beginner is to take it steady and complete the course. Because this race attracts a lot of top club runners it can be easy to get drawn into runnning at to quick a pace.
If you take the above advice into consideration you should complete the course and know you have worked hard to get round the terrain
