In short: did no one mention the hill/
In full: on a very hot day the last thing i needed after coming back from injury was a very steep hill around the 2.5km point. To say i was struggling would be a major understatement. Otherwise the water station was just right and was i glad to see the finish.

In short: Great run in a beautiful Place
In full: really enjoyed this half marathon even though it was only my second. Even though there was 2 killing hills i still managed to take 2 mins off my PB. Will be back next year, but better prepared for the hills. Organisation was first class and the watering stations were well manned and in the right places. Showers and facilities were also first class.

In short: Very hard race for me the beginner,
In full: Wasn't exspecting to do a lot of grass and track running, this really put me out of my stride which i struggled to get back throughout the race. Something wrong with the 1 mile marker, it really knocked my ego for six. It's a good job the other runners had noticed the mistake as well. Wind in your face on the long flat part around 8-10miles just about saw me off. glad to get over the finishing line. tea could of been better, no chance of me waiting in the cold for 20mins. Would of liked a medal to show people that i'd done my first half marathon, but you can't have everything.

In short: good family orientated race
In full: Enjoyed the race a lot, although the course was quite rutted and hard going at times. Otherwise well organised and not far short of a PB. Will be back next year.

In short: Great atmosphere next to the commonwealth stadium
In full: What a great day, and for once it didn't rain in Manchester. Will get more friends to do it next year. Plus a PB to add aswell. Plus with some of the Coronation street actors there it was good fun. For any serious runner this was a good chance to test yourself againgst some of the Kenyans (and no they didnt win it), a local lad from Leigh won it. The only problem was the toilets which were plentyful, but no signs to show where they were.

In short: Too hot for a PB
In full: Lovely course with great countryside, not a lot of shade though. Runners struggled with the heat, making a Pb almost impossible. Atmosphere though was excellent, which made a great day.

In short: Nice race to get started
In full: What a nice race this was, the staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough. The only problem was the lack of toilets, i saw a lot of runners stopping on the route. Otherwise a PB was in order, and seeing as this is my first year any progress is good progress. I'll be back next year.
