In short: Tasty buffet soothes pain of the hills In full: I don't seem to remember that many hills in 2008! Good organisation as usual and a lovely buffet to help bring you over the line. Cheers guys. Date of review: March 7, 2010
In short: Friendly and fun despite being really painful. In full: Looking back at my first time running the 7 hills challenge, I would definately do this again despite the agonising pain from cramp I was in from around the 10 mile mark, with Arthur's Seat looming in the distance.
Special thanks to Coleen who stretched me and massaged my cramping muscles on several occasions from and got me over the finish. Thanks so much, I don't think I would finished without you! And thanks to the kind gent who stretched my leg as it cramped up on the rocks at Arthur's Seat. Yes, I was a mess.
This was a well organised event, a 7-hills coaster was given to the finishers plus nice spot prizes. There was a good buffet after the finish (post run quiche always hits the spot)helped soothe the pain but the most stand-out thing for me was the friendliness and camaraderie en route, better than the marathon for me.
Next year I won't be taking any 'short-cuts' through fields of nettles and thistles and will research my route a little better!
Thanks to the organisers and all the kind people on the run, see you next year!
In short: Really great 10k and wonderfully organised. In full: I'm really beginning to enjoy the smaller races. There's a lot to enjoy with the Great Run type races but this race has lovely scenery (including a spectacular thunderstorm)great organisation and a top post-race buffet! Thanks very much to all the organisers. Date of review: May 12, 2008
In short: Pricy but a great start to the season In full: I love this race - short enough to be a nice intro to the year but challenging enough with the climb up Arthur's Seat. It's a good measure of how far you've come in the year. Managed to take off 4 1/2 mins from last year. Date of review: January 13, 2008
