In short: With better organisation this could be a fantastic event In full: This was my first Cardiff, having done some of the more local halfs, Bristol, Bath etc. and although I enjoyed the race it didn't match up to the others on this occasion. Some of the scenery was quite spectacular but the dual carriageway sections were rather boring. I kept up my spirits by trying to spot people I knew coming the other way. I found most of the facilities adequate, but was it me, or were the mile markers a little anonymous. How about some marshalls at each one reminding runners and urging them on? One thing that really needs improving is the start by segregating runners and the public after a certain point- too congested! Also, why not have open points where you can join the pen at your appropriate point? Most runners had to clamber over the barrier.Smaller drinks bottles with sports caps? Most runners around me took one quick swig and threw the rest away-what a waste! Last section on narrow tarmac pathway was frustrating as slowing runners blocked the way. Otherwise an enjoyable event!!!
