In short: Quick road course with interesting scenery
In full: Smaller than I expected but this actually made it a much friendly feel. Course was surprisingly varied in scenery and hillier than I'd been told. Still managed a PB though. One complaint was lack of water available at the start!

In short: Friendly and very hilly!
In full: A great smaller race with a challenging course - dont expect to be setting a PB! The weather meant that some of the hills were very slippery but that just added to the sense of achievement at the end!

In short: It's called Brutal for a reason!
In full: This was my first time doing one of the Brutal or Grim style runs. I knew it would be a lot tougher than a regular 10k (trail or road) but naivety showed as it was truly BRUTAL! Superbly organised and the difficulty made it feel all the more of an achievement.

In short: Superb trail event with friendly atmosphere
In full: The route is sufficiently undulating to be challenging yet still accessible to all abilities. Event was very well organised however due to huge increase in numbers from 2009 the event start was delayed. Winners bags a very nice bonus to a cracking event.

In short: Well organised event with a really good community feel.
In full: My first time at the event having started doing events regularly. The event has a really good community feel and is really well organised - the cakes afterwards alone are worth running a decent time to make sure you get some! The course is challenging without being daunting - be warned the first 5k are mostly uphill!
