In short: freindly club race, flat/undulating, mostly off road on track, pb potential
In full: Firstly there was a warm freindly club feel to this race, the weather was perfect for running and the organization was like clockwork.

The route was very pretty and mostly off road but was a little slippery under foot in places with lots of fallen leaves on the mostly off rd sections and there was a nice undulation at about the 8 mile mark that made you have to work that little harder, there was also some tight switch backs taking you to and from the track sections. There seemed adequate water stations and the course was definately the correct measurement this year as i had clocked 13.20 miles with my garmin.

So all in all well done to all involved with the running of this event and hope i will see you next year.

In short: Great organistion, freindly and wellcoming and great tea shirt!!
In full: The organisation ran smoothly as allways, the weather held up making this years conditions very good. The checkpoints were well stocked and very freindly helpers. The course is as advertised flat/undulating with nothing to steep to run so if you are thinking of making the step up, it would be a good race to break you into ultra running and i also must add the shirts this year are the best yet. Cheers again to rotherham harriers and everyone involved in putting on a top event !!!

In short: Good organisation, undulating course, good prizes, good momentos
In full: Firstly my condolences go out to the family of Ian casey, the runner that passed away while he was competing in the gloucester marathon last year.

This years race was a huge improvement right across the board on the previous year and i think alot of this was down to just having to organise the one race, the previous year there was also a 50k run side by side with the marathon and it got quiet confusing especially with the mile markers and kilometer markers.

The course is run firstly on a 4 mile loop, which is mainly through a built up area, which leads onto a 7 mile loop, which is quiet scenic and mildly undulating through the country side, which you complete 3 times and there was two water stations on the 7 mile loop giving you water and energy drinks in plastic cups, then at the 25 mile mark you run down a country lane to the finish which i may add is a mile from your car and the severn vale sports centre, allthough if you dont mind waiting they put a coach on to take you back to the sports centre.

All in all, good organisation, good momentos and prizes and well done to everyone involed, would definetly do this again after all, how many marathons are run in january in the UK

In short: Great conditions, great organisation, freindly, greatd value
In full: I did this race last year in December and the conditions were brutal, so bringing this race forward by two months has worked a treat. The conditions today were glorious, the organisation was faultless and a big thankyou to all who were involved with the running of this event. For anyone whos thinking of running or walking this event i would recomend taking both the strip map and writen desciption of the course with you, navagating this course can be quite triky in places.

In short: Fast course, good organisation, value for moey and definate pb potential.
In full: Fast course if your lucky enough to get a calm day at blackpool which it was today, deceptive incline from the 10 mile point at bisham to the finish, all in all if the conditions are good, great potential for a pb.
