In short: Short course and organisation at the start poor In full: My Garmin said 12.96 at the end. Others said less.
The "pen" system at the start was a disaster. I was stood just behind the 1.30 pacer and I heard someone say they expected to do it in 2.15. Very frustrating.
In future, organisers, please place more emphasis on the importance of being in the correct pen.
Route was great however if a little congested at times. Date of review: October 17, 2010

In short: Friendly and well-organised event. In full: Good event but perhaps next year a space for baggage? I ran down and had a rucksack and had to leave it under a table in the registration tent.
Loved the lunchbox though! Much more useful than a t shirt. Date of review: May 3, 2010

In short: Pretty scenery but a really dull, lifeless atmosphere. In full: The course was great - pretty but challenging. But the toilets were woefully inadequate, getting out of the carpark was a shambles at the end, and the atmosphere before the race, during the race and after the race was just dull. And I heard that the ambulance stations didn't have a supply of vaseline...really? In a race? Amateur. Also, fizzy Lucozade at the end instead of water? Ew. My friend is diabetic so couldn't get hold of a drink straight after the race...which is a fairly standard expectation. I did this three years ago and found that standards had slipped. Complacency maybe? Date of review: March 28, 2010

In short: My favourite race In full: My watch decided not to work before the race but that was a positive thing as I got to take in the fantastic scenery and really enjoy the race. There was no chance of setting any personal records anyway! The beach was the best bit. I will be back next year. Date of review: November 24, 2008

In short: There were a few too many bends in the course. But that couldn't be helped I understand. I would like to thank the 1 40 Runner's World pacer who helped get me round in one piece - and still smiling! Date of review: October 19, 2008
