In short: Has to be the best race in the UK, Europe, perhaps the world In full: Excellent organisation, amazingly cheerful marshalls, accurately measured course - a definite must-do race for every runner building up their distance, training for a marathon, or just giving it a go. The Welcome you receive From Stamford Striders will be second to none, the route is beautiful, but challenging and you will come away having had an amazing day. Date of review: February 17, 2013
In short: Excellent Race despite the weather. In full: Beautiful scenery around the course. HQ conditions a little cramped and would have been nice to have somewhere other than the tiny toilets for the ladies to change out of wet clothes after the race. But overall a good race which was a good workout for FLM.
In short: Excellent race - not too blustery - lovely in the sunshine - well done Yaxley In full: Another fantastic race by Yaxley runners. Always well organised and very friendly. The wind was a bit harsh up the hill to the masts, but after that it was lovely, very sunny on the way back in. Only run it once before and beat my time from then by two minutes. - so have come home a happy bunny.
In short: Undulating was certainly the word - not a pb course with all the hills but challenging and enjoyable In full: Excellent last blast out before London. Good quality, large field of runners. Good organisation, no problems at all there. Taut drink at end was good. Excellent Medal. The hills made for a tough 10K run, certainly got the lungs and the legs working hard but was worth the trip.
In short: Excellent race, hills not too taxing. Well marshalled, plenty of water stations. In full: This really was an excellent run out pior to FLM and was well organised by Bedford Harriers. Wind made it tough in places, but the sunshine was lovely. Really enjoyed the race. Thank you to all the marshalls for their support all the way round. Date of review: April 2, 2006
In short: Good race, pity about mess at the finish. In full: The organisation of the race was spot on, apart from the problems at the finish which have the potential to spoil the whole experience - if you've worked hard and then don't get the time you have earned, it leaves a bad memory. My time was not too far out but I think others offical times were slow by 5-10 minutes which is not what you need. perhaps the championship chips would have helped? But otherwise good race, excellent medal, lots of free lucozade drinks. Enjoyed it.
